The Sphere Packing Bound for DSPCs with Feedback à la Augustin
Nakiboğlu, Barış (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2019-11-01)
Establishing the sphere packing bound for block codes on the discrete stationary product channels with feedback—which are commonly called the discrete memoryless channels with feedback—was considered to be an open problem until recently, notwithstanding the proof sketch provided by Augustin in 1978. A complete proof following Augustin’s proof sketch is presented to demonstrate its adequacy and to draw attention to two novel ideas that it employs. These novel ideas (i.e., the Augustin’s averaging and the use...
The standart model analysis of the cp violation in the inclusive semileptonic b-meson decays
Eygi, Zeynep Deniz; Turan, Gürsevil; Department of Physics (2004)
Being a flavor changing neutral current process, inclusive semileptonic B- meson decays provide reliable testing grounds for the Standard Model at the loop level. They are also importanat in the CKM phenomology and investing the CP violation due to the existence of sizable interference terms in the decay amplitude. In this work , the rare inclusive semileptonic B- meson decays for (lepton is electron ,muon , tau) are investigated in the context of the Standard Model. The differential branching ratio, forward...
The semismooth approach for semi-infinite programming under the Reduction Ansatz
Stein, Oliver; Tezel, Aysun (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2008-06-01)
We study convergence of a semismooth Newton method for generalized semi-infinite programming problems with convex lower level problems where, using NCP functions, the upper and lower level Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions of the optimization problem are reformulated as a semismooth system of equations. Nonsmoothness is caused by a possible violation of strict complementarity slackness. We show that the standard regularity condition for convergence of the semismooth Newton method is satisfied under natural assu...
The mean field model with P-2 theta(2) coupling for the smectic A-smectic C* phase transition in liquid crystals
Salihoglu, S; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit; Giz, A; Kayisoglu, D; Konu, A (Informa UK Limited, 1998-01-01)
Using mean field theory with a P(2)theta (2) coupling term in the free energy expansion, we calculate the polarization as a function of temperature for the smectic A-smectic C* phase transition in a liquid crystalline material. Our calculated polarization values are in good agreement with the experimental data.
The modified Vlasov model on a nonhomogeneous and nonlinear soil layer
Isbuga, Volkan; Cerezci, Mehmet; Aşık, Mehmet Zülfü (2022-09-01)
© 2022 Elsevier LtdThis study presents a novel approach to account for the soil nonlinearity of nonhomogeneous soil deposits in foundation deflection analyses in the context of a modified Vlasov foundation model. We present an extension of the previously proposed formulation by developing a new formulation employing an improved algorithm that takes the modulus degradation curves at varying strain levels into account in an iterative manner. This new model, which takes the nonlinear soil behavior into account...
