Adsorption calorimetry in supported catalyst characterization: Adsorption structure sensitivity on Pt/-gamma-Al2O3
Üner, Deniz (Elsevier BV, 2005-08-15)
In this study, the structure sensitivity of hydrogen, oxygen and carbon monoxide adsorption was investigated by changing the metal particle size of Pt/Al2O3 catalysts. The 2% Pt/Al2O3 catalysts were prepared by incipient wetness method; the particle size of the catalysts was modified by calcining at different temperatures. The differential heats of adsorption of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and oxygen were measured using a SETARAM C80 Tian-Calvet calorimeter. Hydrogen chemisorption sites with low and intermedi...
Adsorption calorimetry in supported catalyst characterization : adsorption structure sensitivity on pt(y-Al2o3
Üner, Murat; Üner, Deniz; Department of Chemical Engineering (2004)
In this study, the structure sensitivity of hydrogen, oxygen and carbon monoxide adsorption was investigated by changing the metal particle size of Pt/Al2O3 catalysts. 2 % Pt/Al2O3 catalysts were prepared by incipient wetness method; the particle size of the catalysts was manipulated by calcining at different temperatures. The dispersion values for the catalysts calcined in air at 683K, 773K and 823K were measured as 0.62, 0.20 and 0.03 respectively. The differential heats of adsorption of hydrogen, carbon ...
Adsorption properties of boron nitride nanotubes
Khan, Saeed Ahmad; Sezgi, Naime Aslı; Balcı, Fatma Suna; Department of Chemical Engineering (2016)
The developments in nanotechnology in last decades have provided use of nanoparticles for many applications in various areas such as electronics, fuel cells, composites, cosmetics, and biomedical. They have excellent mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. Nanotechnology is one of the fastest growing areas in materials and engineering science and biotechnology. Nanotubes have been one of the most regarded and studied type of nanoparticles up to now. Boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) are an important m...
Adsorption of RuSex (x=1-5) cluster on Se-doped graphene: First principle calculations
AKTÜRK, OLCAY ÜZENGİ; Tomak, Mehmet (2015-08-30)
We have investigated the adsorption of RuSex (x =1-5) cluster on Se-doped graphene. The change of the adsorption energy with the number of Se atoms and magnetization values are investigated. Electronic properties of adsorption of RuSex (x =1-5) cluster on Se-doped graphene are investigated. The highest adsorption energy belongs to RuSe adsorbate. The biggest magnetization value belongs to RuSe2 adsorbate. This adsorbate makes the substrate half metallic. This property is important in electronic device appli...
