An electronic book or an e-book is a digital form of a traditional book. Although the use of e-books has been increasing with the development of technology, the acceptance of this technology may vary. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is used to explain and estimate users’ behaviour of technology acceptance. This study is performed to investigate the factors that affect the acceptance of technology for e-books. A survey study has been designed based on the enhanced TAM factors. Data is obtained from graduate and doctorate students of Business Administration, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Computer Engineering departments. Data is analyzed with the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) Method to determine the weighted importance of each factor that influence technology acceptance for e-books. Multiple Regression Analysis is applied to determine the overall effect of all the factors. A comparison of the two methods is carried out between these two different groups. The findings of the two methods indicate that, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are the most significant factors that influence attitudes toward using e-books.

A case-based reasoning model as an organizational learning tool
Ozorhon, B,; Dikmen Toker, İrem; Birgönül, Mustafa Talat (null; 2005-06-03)
Organizational learning (OL) is a set of activities to obtain organizational memory (OM) byacquiring, sharing, interpreting, integrating and institutionalizing knowledge. Although the OLprocess of construction firms has been discussed for several times, utilization of the output ofthese activities has not been investigated in depth. All companies can learn but the advantage oflearning is revealed when companies enhance their decision-making abilities through their OM.The major objective of this...
Security analysis of electronic signature applications and test suite study
Ergun, Tamer; Özbudak, Ferruh; Department of Cryptography (2013)
Digital signature technology is used widely for security and trust in electronic business and communications. Nowadays it becomes commonly used especially in government agencies. From this point of view, it is crucial to implement correct applications to create and verify digital signatures. CEN (European Commitee for Standardization) has introduced the security requirements for signature applications but neither proposed a PKI model nor implemented a test suite to evaluate the accuracy of signature applica...
Selective word encoding for effective text representation
Ozkan, Savas; Ozkan, Akin (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, 2019-01-01)
Determining the category of a text document from its semantic content is highly motivated in the literature and it has been extensively studied in various applications. Also, the compact representation of the text is a fundamental step in achieving precise results for the applications and the studies are generously concentrated to improve its performance. In particular, the studies which exploit the aggregation of word-level representations are the mainstream techniques used in the problem. In this paper, w...
Emerging Technologies in Environmental Bioremediation
Shah, Maulin P; Rodriguez-Couto, Susana; Şengör, Sema Sevinç (Elsevier Science, Oxford/Amsterdam , 2020-04-01)
This book describes the state-of-the-art and possibilities of emerging technologies in environmental bioremediation, and reviews its various areas together with their related issues and implications. Considering the number of problems that define and concretize the field of environmental microbiology or bioremediation, the role of some bioprocesses and biosystems for environmental protection, control, and health based on the utilization of living organisms are analyzed. The book aims to provide a comp...
Study of physically transient insulating materials as a potential platform for transient electronics and bioelectronics
ACAR, Handan; Çınar, Simge; Thunga, Mahendra; KESSLER, Michael R.; HASHEMI, Nastaran; MONTAZAMI, Reza (Wiley, 2014-07-09)
Controlled degradation and transiency of materials is of significant importance in the design and fabrication of degradable and transient biomedical and electronic devices and platforms. Here, the synthesis of programmable biodegradable and transient insulating polymer films is reported, which have sufficient physical and chemical properties to be used as substrates for the construction of transient electronics. The composite structure can be used as a means to control the dissolution and transiency rate of...
