Synthesis of conducting graft copolymers of 2-(N-pyrrolyl)ethylvinyl ether with pyrrole
Bengu, B; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Kalaycioglu, E (2001-01-01)
2-(N-pyrrolyl)ethylvinyl ether (2-NEVE) was synthesized from 2-chloroethylvinyl ether (2-CEVE) via a phase catalysis reaction. Cyclic voltammetric studies were carried out to check for the electroactivity of 2-NEVE. Poly(2-(N-pyrrolyl)ethylvinyl ether) [poly(2-NEVE)] was synthesized via chemical methods. Graft copolymers of pyrrole and 2-NEVE were synthesized by electrochemical methods. The chemical structures of 2-NEVE and poly(2-NEVE) were investigated by several spectroscopic methods. Graft copolymers we...
Synthesis of conducting copolymers of thiophene capped poly(ethylene oxide) with pyrrole and thiophene
Yildiz, Huseyin Bekir; Kiralp, Senem; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Yagci, Yusuf; Ito, Koichi (Elsevier BV, 2006-11-10)
Thiophene capped poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) was synthesized. Copolymerisations of PEO with pyrrole (Py) and thiophene (Th) were achieved in water-sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and acetonitrile (AN)-tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TBAFB) solvent electrolyte couples via constant potential electrolyses. Characterisations of the samples were performed by NMR, cyclic voltammetry (CV), FT-IR, scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Electrical conductivities were measured by the four-probe technique. PEO-co-PTh f...
Synthesis of conducting copolymer of succinic acid bis-(pyrrolyl-phenyl) ester with thiophene

Synthesis of conducting H-type polysiloxane-polypyrrole block copolymers
Kalaycioglu, E; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Yagci, Y; Harabagiu, V; Pintela, M; Ardelean, R; Simionescu, BC (1998-08-30)
Synthesis of a siloxane polymer with pyrrole end groups has been described. Electrochemical block polymerization of pyrrole through these end groups has been achieved. Characterization of the electrolytic products has been performed by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal gravimetry analysis (TGA) analyses and FT-IR studies. The effects of different dopant ions, namely, p-toluene sulfonic acid (PTSA) and tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TBAFB), i...
Synthesis of Cyano-Substituted Diaryltetracenes from Tetraaryl[3] cumulenes**
GAWEL, Przemyslaw; Dengiz, Çağatay; FINKE, Aaron D.; TRAPP, Nils; BOUDON, Corinne; GISSELBRECHT, Jean-Paul; DIEDERICH, Francois (2014-04-22)
A versatile, two-step synthesis of highly substituted, cyano-functionalized diaryltetracenes has been developed, starting from easily accessible tetraaryl[3]cumulenes. This unprecedented transformation is initiated by [2+2] cycloaddition of tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) to the proacetylenic central double bond of the cumulenes to give an intermediate zwitterion, which after an electrocyclization cascade and dehydrogenation yields 5,5,11,11-tetracyano-5,11-dihydrotetracenes in a one-pot procedure. A subsequent c...
