Novel Mesoporous Nanocomposite WOx-Silicate Acidic Catalysts: Ethylene and Diethylether from Ethanol
Varisli, Dilek; Doğu, Timur; DOĞU, GÜLŞEN (2009-11-04)
Solid acid catalysts are extensively used in a number of industrially important catalytic reactions. Here, water-insoluble novel mesoporous solid acid catalysts, with a unique structure composed of WOx nanorods and W nanoballs within an amorphous silicate lattice, were synthesized following a one-pot hydrothermal route. using silicotungstic acid (STA) as the active component. Surface area of these catalysts ire more than 2 orders of magnitude higher than that of pure STA, and they showed very high activity ...
Novel annulation reactions for the synthesis of substituted pyrroles darzens reaction of acyl phosphonates with α-bromo ketones : selective synthesis of cis- and transepoxyphosphonates
Emrullah, Mustafa; Demir, Ayhan Sıtkı; Department of Chemistry (2009)
In the first part of this thesis, it is aimed to develope methods for the synthesis of trisubstituted pyrrrole derivatives. 2-Aminopyrrroles, alkoxy and sulfonyl substittitued pyrrole derivatives as well as pirolinones show interesting biological activities and are precursor of well know drugs. Although there is a number of methods for the synthesis of pyrroles, the synthesis of 2-aminopyrroles is limited to few works and is not widely known. Therefore, it is still an important goal in organic chemistry to ...
Novel thermally stable organo-montmorillonites from phosphonium and imidazolium surfactants
Abdallah, Wissam; Yılmazer, Ülkü (Elsevier BV, 2011-10-20)
To circumvent the deleterious early decomposition effects of thermally unstable alkyl ammonium-treated montmorillonites when processed with high-melting-point polymers, high thermally stable salts are used as intercalant agents for sodium montmorillonite rich bentonites of Turkish origin, by an ion exchange reaction to produce organo-montmorillonites with enhanced thermal stability. The bentonite clay was purified by sedimentation, resulting in higher cation exchange capacity and thermal stability in compar...
Novel derivatives of regioisomerically pure 1,7-disubstituted perylene diimide dyes bearing phenoxy and pyrrolidinyl substituents: Synthesis, photophysical, thermal, and structural properties
Ozser, Mustafa E.; Sarkodie, Samuel A.; Mohiuddin, Obaidullah; Ozesme, Gozde (2017-12-01)
Two new isomerically pure 1,7-substituted perylene-bisimide derivatives namely; 1,7-Di(4-tert-butylphenoxy)N,N'-bis[2-(diethylamino)ethyl]-3,4,9,10-perylene-tetracarboxylic diimide (6) and 1,7-Di(pyrrolidinyl)-N,N'-bis [2-(diethylamino)ethyl]-3,4,9,10-perylene- tetracarboxylic diimide (7), have been synthesized and their electronic absorption, steady-state fluorescence, and thermal properties were studied. Both compounds show good solubility in a range of organic solvents. Attachment of two electron donatin...
Novel enantioselective synthesis of trans-α-(2-carboxycyclo-prop-1- yl)glycines: Conformationally constrained L-glutamate analogues
Demir, Ayhan Sıtkı; Tanyeli, Cihangir; CAGİR, Ali; Nawaz Tahir, M.; Ulku, Dincer (1998-03-27)
D- and L-alpha-(2-carboxycycloprop-1-yl)glycines were synthesized from trans-1,3-di(2-furyl)propenane. Conversion of the double bond to a cyclopropane is followed by-the formation of an oxime ether. Enantioselective reduction of the oxime ether, separation of diastereomers and oxidation of the furane rings gave enantiomerically pure D- and L-CCG I and CCG II. The structure of oxime 7b was determined by X-ray crystal structure analysis. The key step is the oxazaborolidine catalyzed enantioselective conversio...
