An Optimization study on cavity magnetron
Kayan, Merve; Çakır, Serhat; Department of Physics (2018)
We studied structure of cavity magnetrons and physics behind it deeply in this thesis. The main purpose of this study is to observe parameters which affect generated power of magnetron negatively or positively. Basically, they are crossedfield devices and electrons generate RF power with the help of both electric and magnetic field. We analyzed the physics of electron motion in magnetron and came up with a power equation. Then, we studied a cylindrical hole-slot-type magnetron with specific sizes and plotte...
An Error prevention model for cosmic functional size measurement method
Salmanoğlu, Murat; Demirörs, Onur; Department of Information Systems (2012)
Estimation and measurement of the size of software is crucial for project management activities. Functional size measurement is one of the most frequently used methods to measure size of software and COSMIC is one of the popular methods for functional size measurement. Although precise size measurement is critical, the results may differ because of the errors made in the measurement process. The erroneous measurement results cause lack of confidence for the methods as well as reliability problems for effort...
An adaptive simulated annealing algorithm-based approach for assembly line balancing and a real-life case study
Guden, H.; Meral, Fatma Sedef (2016-05-01)
In this study, we address the deterministic assembly line balancing problem (ALBP) in a multiple product-models environment with multiple objectives. We have been motivated by the assembly line balancing problem of a white goods product production line that is a multi-model type line with 68 stations through which four product-models are assembled, each with approximately 400 precedence relations and 300 tasks. In the plant, to cope with the increasing demand in the medium term, the efficiency of the line i...
An Analysis of the Bidirectional LMS Algorithm over Fast-Fading Channels
Yapici, Yavuz; Yılmaz, Ali Özgür (2012-07-01)
A bidirectional LMS algorithm is considered for estimation of fast frequency-selective time-varying channels with a promise of near optimal tracking performance and robustness to parameter imperfections under various scenarios at a practical level of complexity. The performance of the algorithm is verified by the theoretical steady-state MSE analysis and experimental bit error rate (BER) results.
