ROMP-polymers, in asymmetric catalysis: The role of the polymer backbone
Bolm, C; Tanyeli, Cihangir; Grenz, A; Dinter, CL (Wiley, 2002-08-01)
Ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) is utilized for the synthesis of highly functionalized polymers with covalently bound chiral prolinol units. The linear macromolecules act as multifunctional ligands in homogeneous asymmetric catalysis. The solubility of the polymers and their catalytic performance can be tuned by random copolymerization with achiral units in a simple and flexible manner. Use of norbornenes with additional well-defined stereogenic centers in the polymerizable core of the monomer...

SPEL: Development af a New Spectral Signature Library for Food Products
Ömrüuzun, Fatih; Özdemir, Okan Bilge; Çetin, Yasemin (null; 2014-09-09)
Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) has become a widely used nondestructive inspection method in Food Quality Assessment (FQA). In FQA studies, HSI is used to measure light reectance characteristics (spectra) of food products at different wavelengths. Obtained spectral characteristics of food products reveal detailed information such as freshness, suitability for consumption, potential diseases etc. In this study, development phases and features of METU - Spectral Signature Library of Food Products (METU SPEL) data...
XPS analysis with external bias: a simple method for probing differential charging
Ertaş, Gülay (Wiley, 2004-07-01)
The XPS spectra of thermally grown oxide layers on Si, Al, W and Hf substrates have been recorded while the samples were subjected to external d.c. voltage bias. The bias induces additional shifts in the measured binding energy differences between the XPS peaks of the oxide and that of the metal substrate in Si and Al (as probed both in the 2p and the KLL Auger regions), but not in W and Hf (as probed in the 4f region). These bias induced shifts are attributed to differential charging between the oxide laye...
CBFEM-MPI: A Parallelized Version of Characteristic Basis Finite Element Method for Extraction of 3-D Interconnect Capacitances
Ozgun, Ozlem; Mittra, Raj; Kuzuoğlu, Mustafa (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2009-02-01)
In this paper, we present a novel, non-iterative domain decomposition method, which has been parallelized by using the message passing interface (MPI) library, and used to efficiently extract the capacitance matrixes of 3-D interconnect structures, by employing characteristic basis functions (CBFs) in the context of the finite element method (FEM). In this method, which is Failed CBFEM-MPI, the computational domain is partitioned into a number of nonoverlapping subdomains in which the CBFs are constructed b...
