Toward a Simple Design and Manufacturing Pipeline for Additive Manufacturing
Haseltalab, Vahid; Dölen, Melik; Yaman, Ulaş; Hoffmann, Christoph (2021-01-01)
A novel design and manufacturing pipeline for Additive Manufacturing is presented. The architecture of the pipeline is motivated by the observation that the conventional pipeline is unnecessarily complex. Most of the time, only a small set of programming steps suffices for 3D design and manufacture. In particular, the proposed method requires no complex hardware or software, and it generates the geometric data on the fly. This is demonstrated using a simplified evaluation of general volumetric sweeps. The m...

Toward a Multidimensional Performance Measure for International Joint Ventures in Construction
Ozorhon, Beliz; Arditi, David; Dikmen Toker, İrem; Birgönül, Mustafa Talat (American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), 2011-06-01)
Measuring the performance of joint ventures has been an important research topic for a few decades. No consensus on an appropriate definition and measurement of performance of international joint ventures (IJVs) has yet emerged, and the validity of the underlying measures is still questionable. In this study, the construct validity of measures that define IJV performance in construction is evaluated using data obtained through a questionnaire survey. A second-order performance construct is proposed, which i...
Toward an understanding of acceptance of electronic performance support systems : what drives users' perceptions regarding usefulness and ease of use?
Şumuer, Evren; Yıldırım, İbrahim Soner; Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology (2012)
This study aimed to explain and understand the acceptance of the Electronic Performance Support System (EPSS) on the basis of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This mixed methods research study was conducted within the Crime Scene Investigation and Identification Units of the Turkish National Police. The quantitative data were collected from 209 police officers with a questionnaire to test the hypothesized relationships in TAM. At the same time, the qualitative data were collected through interviews wi...
