Fluoride substitution on polypyrrole during electrochemical synthesis in the presence of N(Bu)4BF4

2001-02-23
Strong evidence of fluoride substitution on the pyrrole ring during electrolysis has been observed in a systematic structural and thermal analyses of polypyrrole doped with BF4- by direct insertion probe-mass spectrometry. To get a better understanding, not only polypyrrole samples doped with different dopant levels but also dedoped polypyrrole samples, mechanical mixtures of polypyrrole and N(Bu)(4)BF4 were analyzed using pyrolysis mass and FTIR spectroscopy techniques.

Fluoride-free synthesis of mesoporous [Al]-[B]-ZSM-5 using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide and methanol-to-olefin activity with high propene selectivity
Yalcin, Busra Karakaya; İpek Torun, Bahar (2021-01-01)
Large ZSM-5 crystals containing [B]-sites and mesopores with 2.5 nm pore sizes are synthesized in a fluoride-free, low OH- medium using cethyltrimethylammonium bromide as mesoporogen and 1,6-diaminohexane as structure directing agent. Absence of extra-framework Al sites and low concentrations of silanol sites are evidenced by Al-27 MAS-NMR and in-situ FTIR analysis. The low-defect containing [Al]-[B]-ZSM-5 (Mes-[Al]-[B]-ZSM-5) is evaluated for catalyzing the methanol-to-olefins reaction and found to result ...
DIPOLE-MOMENTS OF ISOTACTIC AND ATACTIC POLY(PROPYLENE OXIDE) SAMPLES
KUCUKYAVUZ, Z; ALYURUK, K; AHMAD, AM (Elsevier BV, 1991-01-01)
Dipole moments of poly(propylene oxide) (PPO) samples with different tacticities were determined from dielectric constant and refractive index increment measurements, which were performed on dilute toluene and isooctane solutions. In contrast to previous reports, both refractive index increments and the dipole moment ratios showed a marked dependence on the tacticities of the samples. The dipole moment ratios of isotactic samples were greater than unity and decreased with increasing sequence concentration...
Catalytic oxidation of nitrogen containing compounds for nitrogen determination
Karakaş, Gürkan (2019-02-15)
The high temperature catalytic oxidation (HTCO) performance of Al2O3 supported Pt, Cu, Cu-Ce and Fe catalysts were systematically studied with a perspective of selective oxidation of nitrogenous compounds to nitric oxide for quantitative determination of bound nitrogen. The catalyst samples were prepared via impregnation and characterized by XRD and BET. In addition, temperature programmed reaction experiments with acetonitrile and oxygen were conducted to evaluate the catalytic activity and selectivity tow...
Hydrogen generation of conventional fuels over mesoporous mixed oxide catalysts under time interrrupted reaction conditions
Can, Mukaddes; Üner, Deniz; Yılmaz, Ayşen; Department of Chemical Engineering (2012)
In this study, catalytic activity of the Co and/or Pb-SBA-15 mesoporous catalysts in methane partial oxidation reaction was investigated. By using sol-gel, incipient wetness impregnation and post grafting method, SBA-15 samples are incorporated with Co and/or Pb at different weight loadings to provide a controlled geometry in nanometer scale. The characterization of the synthesized samples was done by XRD, N2 adsorption isotherms, FTIR, TEM images, Raman and XPS analysis. In the present study also, gas phas...
Palladium(0) nanoparticles supported on polydopamine coated Fe3O4 as magnetically isolable, highly active and reusable catalysts for hydrolytic dehydrogenation of ammonia borane
Manna, Joydev; Akbayrak, Serdar; Özkar, Saim (2016-01-01)
Magnetic ferrite nanopowders were coated with polydopamine which is inert against the hydrolysis of ammonia borane. Coating of ferrite powders was achieved by pH-induced self-polymerization of dopamine hydrochloride at room temperature. Palladium(0) nanoparticles supported on polydopamine coated ferrite (Pd-0/PDA-Fe3O4) were prepared by impregnation of palladium(II) ions on the surface of PDA-Fe3O4 followed by their reduction with sodium borohydride in aqueous solution at room temperature. Magnetically isol...
