The electrochemistry of tricarbonyl(η6-1,3,5- cycloheptatriene)chromium(O), -molybdenum(O) and -tungsten(0) was studied at a Pt electrode in aprotic solvents. It was observed that the electrochemical behaviour of these complexes is different in acetonitrile and dichloromethane possibly due to different coordination abilities of the solvent molecules. For the determination of the number of electron transfers at their respective peak potentials, a coulometric method was used. It was found that only one electron transfer occurs at the first oxidation peak of each complex.

ELECTROCHEMICAL BEHAVIOR OF MOCLOBEMIDE AT MERCURY AND GLASSY CARBON ELECTRODES AND VOLTAMMETRIC METHODS FOR ITS DETERMINATION
Altunöz Erdoğan, Deniz; Tasdemir, Ibrahim Hudai; Erk, Nevin; Kilic, Esma (2011-01-01)
Electrochemical oxidation and reduction properties of Moclobemide (MCB) were investigated at glassy carbon electrode (GCE) and hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE). Diffusion-adsorption behavior and some extra electrochemical parameters such as diffusion coefficient, number of transferred electrons and proton participated to its electrode mechanisms on both electrode and surface coverage coefficient were calculated from the results of cyclic voltammetry and square-wave voltammetry. Reversible catalytic hyd...
Electrochemical synthesis of crowned conducting polymers : nature of radical cations in polymerization and mechanism of conductivity
Cihaner, Atilla; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar; Department of Chemistry (2004)
Poly(dibenzo-18-crown-6) (Poly(DB18C6)) was synthesized by electrochemical oxidation of dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6) using a mixture of acetonitrile and dichloromethane as solvent and tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TBABF4) or tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate (TBAPF6) as supporting electrolyte. The anodic polymerization of DB18C6 was investigated using in-situ ESR and in-situ UV-VIS spectroscopic techniques. Spectroelectrochemical (SPEL) properties and thermal analysis of the resulting polymers h...
Electrochemical and optical properties of novel terthienyl based azobenzene, coumarine and fluorescein containing polymers: Multicolored electrochromic polymers
Yigit, Deniz; Udum, Yasemin Arslan; GÜLLÜ, Mustafa; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2014-01-01)
Three electroactive terthienyl based monomers, namely 1-phenyl-2-[4-(2,2':5',2 ''-terthien-3'-ylmethoxy)phenyl]diazene (TTAz), 4-(2,2':5',2 ''-terthien-3'-ylmethoxy)-2H-chromen-2-one (TTCo) and methyl 2-[3-oxo-6-(2,2':5',2 ''-terthien-3'-ylmethoxy)-3H-xanthen-9-yl] benzoate (TTFlo), were synthesized with good yields and their conducting polymers were electrochemically prepared on ITO electrode surfaces. The effect of chromophore type on electrochemical and optical properties of the polymers was investigated...
Electrochemical study of tricarbonyl(eta(6)-cyclooctatetraene)metal(0) complexes of the group 6 elements
Yilmaz, GA; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar; Özkar, Saim (1998-08-01)
Tricarbonyl(eta(6)-cyclooctatetraene)metal(0) complexes of the group 6 elements were prepared by using the procedures described in the literature with some minor modifications and identified by IR and NMR spectroscopy. Their electrochemical behavior was studied by using cyclic voltammetry in dichloromethane solution containing 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate as supporting electrolyte. Their oxidation and reduction potentials were measured and discussed in terms of the frontier energy levels in co...
Electrochemical copolymerization and characterization of dianilines linked by polyether bridge with aniline
TİRKEŞ, SEHA; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2010-04-01)
Copolymer of aniline and triethylene glycol bis(o-aminophenyl) ether was synthesized by constant potential electrolysis. Cyclic voltammogram of the copolymer films recorded in the monomer-free electrolytic solution revealed that the redox behavior of the films approaches to that of poly(triethylene glycol bis(o-aminophenyl) ether) with increasing amount of triethylene glycol bis(o-aminophenyl) in the feed ratio. Copolymerization was investigated by in situ recording the changes in the electronic absorption ...
