In this paper, the following scenario is considered: there are two qubits possessed by two parties at different locations. Qubits have been prepared in one of a maximum of four, mutually-orthogonal, entangled states and the parties wish to distinguish between the states by using local operations and classical communication. Although in general it is not possible to distinguish between four arbitrary states, the parties can spend some preshared entanglement to achieve perfect discrimination between four qubit states and can also preserve the entanglement of the states after discrimination. This is shown by employing the theory of majorization and the connections between entanglement transformations and state discrimination protocols.

Quantum systems and representation theorem
Dosi, Anar (2013-09-01)
In this paper we investigate quantum systems which are locally convex versions of abstract operator systems. Our approach is based on the duality theory for unital quantum cones. We prove the unital bipolar theorem and provide a representation theorem for a quantum system being represented as a quantum -system.
Discrete event supervisor design and application for manufacturing systems with arbitrary faults and repairs
Acar, Ayşe Nur; Schmidt, Klaus Verner (2015-10-07)
This paper considers the supervisory control of discrete event systems (DES) that are subject to faults. To this end, an existing method for the fault-recovery and repair of single faults is extended to the case of different faults. As a result, we obtain a supervisor that follows the specified nominal system behavior in the fault-free case, converges to a desired degraded behavior for each fault type and recovers the nominal behavior after repair. The results of the paper are illustrated by a small example.
Entanglement transformations and quantum error correction
Gül, Yusuf; Pak, Namık Kemal; Department of Physics (2009)
The main subject of this thesis is the investigation of the transformations of pure multipartite entangled states having Schmidt rank 2 by using only local operations assisted with classical communications (LOCC). A new parameterization is used for describing the entangled state of p particles distributed to p distant, spatially separated persons. Product, bipartite and truly multipartite states are identified in this new parametrization. Moreover, alternative parameterizations of local operations carried o...
Invalid joint arrangements and actuator related singular configurations of a system of two cooperating SCARA manipulators
Ozkan, B; Özgören, Mustafa Kemal (2001-06-01)
In this study, the actuator related singular configurations (ASCs) of a system of two cooperating SCARA manipulators, are investigated. The ASC concept was First developed for planar pairs of cooperating manipulators, and it was shown that these ill-conditions could be different from the kinematic: singularities. (Ozkan B, Ozgoren MK. Torque related singular configurations of a planar system of two coodinated manipulators. In: Proceedings of International Machine Design and Production Conference, Sept. 9-11...
Indirect Relationship between Egoistic Relative Deprivation and Subjective Well-Being
ÖZDEMİR, FATİH; Tekes, Burcu; Öner Özkan, Bengi (2019-01-01)
The present study investigates the possible variables that explain subjective well-being based on Relative Deprivation Theory. In this regard, the first purpose of the study is to focus on the qualitative characteristic of the desired outcome and examine whether the types of material and emotional egoistic relative deprivation exhibit a differentiated relationship with subjective well-being. The second purpose is to test the possible mediating role of perceived intrinsic strength and perceived extrinsic str...
