POLARON PROPERTIES OF THE WANNIER EXCITON IN A QUANTUM-WELL CONFINEMENT
Erçelebi, Ayşe Çiğdem (IOP Publishing, 1989-03-20)
On the basis of a perturbative-variational approach, the polaron effect on the ground-state energy of the two-dimensionally confined exciton is analysed in the overall range of the parameters characterising the problem. With particular attention devoted to the GaAs-based quantum structure, it is seen that the photon-induced effects on the binding are rather noticeable and should not be ignored.
Polaron effects on the binding energy of a hydrogenic impurity in a semiconductor quantum well
Ercelebi, A; Sualp, G (IOP Publishing, 1987-11-30)
The polaron effect on the ground-state level of a hydrogenic impurity in a semiconductor quantum well is calculated as a function of the well thickness. The formulation is based on an extension of the strong-coupling polaron theory and covers the overall range of the electron-phonon coupling strength. It is observed that in a GaAs-based quantum structure the phonon-induced shift in the binding energy is smaller than that in the bulk case except for too narrow well sizes.
Polarographic determination of Pb(II) and Cd(II) with selective removal of Se(IV) using ionic poly(N,N-dimethylacrylamide-co-allylthiourea)
Inam, R; Caykara, T; Özcan Kabasakal, Süreyya; Yagmur, M (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2005-12-01)
Hydrogels based on N,N-dimethylacrylamide (DMAAm), allylthiourea (ATU), and maleic acid (MA) were synthesized by free-radical cross-linking copolymerization in water with N,N-methylene-bis(acrylamide) (BAAm) as the cross-linker, ammonium persulfate (APS) as the initiator, and N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl-enediamine (TEMED) as the activator. Since Se(IV) is the most serious interfering element in the electroanalytical (polarographic or voltammetric) determination of lead and cadmium, a new method for their correct ...
Polarized Rabi-coupled and spinor boson droplets
Yoğurt, Taha Alper; Keleş, Ahmet; Oktel, M.Ö. (2023-2-01)
Self-bound quantum droplets form when the mean-field tendency of the gas to collapse is stabilized by the effectively repulsive beyond-mean-field fluctuations. The beyond-mean-field effects depend on Rabi frequency ωR and quadratic Zeeman effect q for the Rabi-coupled Bose mixtures and the spinor gases, respectively. For a quantum droplet, the effects of varying ωR and q have recently been examined only for unpolarized Rabi-coupled Bose mixtures and unpolarized spinor gases. In this paper, we theoretically ...
Polarized lepton pair forward-backward asymmetries in B -> K*l(+)l(-) decay beyond the standard model
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2004-05-01)
We study the polarized lepton pair forward-backward asymmetries in B --> K*l+l(-) decay using a general, model independent form of the effective hamiltonian. We present the general expression for nine double-polarization forward-backward asymmetries. It is shown that, the study of the forward-backward asymmetries of the doubly-polarized lepton pair is a very useful tool for establishing new physics beyond the standard model.
