Measurement of the associated production of a single top quark and a Z boson in pp collisions at, root s=13 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2018-04-01)
A measurement is presented of the associated production of a single top quark and a Z boson. The study uses data from proton-proton collisions at, root s = 13 TeV recorded by the CMS experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb(-1). Using final states with three leptons (electrons or muons), the tZq production cross section is measured to be sigma (pp -> tZq -> Wbl(+)l(-)q) = 123(-31)(+33)(stat)(-23)(+29)(syst) fb, where l stands for electrons, muons, or tau leptons, with observed and ex...
Measurement of WZ and ZZ production in pp collisions at in final states with b-tagged jets
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2014-08-01)
Measurements are reported of the WZ and ZZ production cross sections in proton-proton collisions at in final states where one Z boson decays to b-tagged jets. The other gauge boson, either W or Z, is detected through its leptonic decay (either , or , , or ). The results are based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 18.9 fb collected with the CMS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The measured cross sections, and , are consistent with next-to-leading order quantum chromodynamics calculat...
Measurement of the top quark polarization and t(t)over-barspin correlations using dilepton final states in proton-proton collisions at root s=13 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2019-10-01)
Measurements of the top quark polarization and top quark pair (t (t) over bar) spin correlations are presented using events containing two oppositely charged leptons (e(+)e(-), e(+/-)mu(-/+), or mu(+)mu(-)) produced in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The data were recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC in 2016 and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb(-1) . A set of parton-level normalized differential cross sections, sensitive to each of the independent coeffic...
Measurement of the W-boson helicity in top-quark decays from t(t)over-bar production in lepton plus jets events in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2013-10-01)
The W-boson helicity fractions in top-quark decays are measured with t (t) over bar events in the lepton+jets final state, using proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, collected in 2011 with the CMS detector at the LHC. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb(-1). The measured fractions of longitudinal, left-, and right-handed helicity are F-0 = 0.682 +/- 0.030 (stat.) +/- 0.033 (syst.), F-L = 0.310 +/- 0.022 (stat.) +/- 0.022 (syst.), and F-R = 0.008 +/- 0.0...
Measurement of the production cross section of a W boson in association with two b jets in pp collisions at root s=8TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2017-02-01)
The production cross section of a W boson in association with two b jets is measured using a sample of proton-proton collisions at root s = 8 TeV collected by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.8 fb(-1). The W bosons are reconstructed via their leptonic decays, W -> l(v) where l = mu or e. The fiducial region studied contains exactly one lepton with transverse momentum pT(l) > 30 GeV and pseudorapidity |eta(l)| < 2.1, with exactly two b jets wit...
