Luminescence of fluorenes 2,7-conjugatively extended with pyrenylvinylene and pyrenylvinylene-phenylenevinylene
Çırpan, Ali; LAHTI, Paul M.; KARASZ, Frank E. (Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), 2007-01-01)
2,7-Bis(1'-pyrenylvinylene)-9,9-diethylfluorene (1) and 2,7-bis(1'-pyrenylvinylene- 4 ''-phenylenevinylene)-9,9-diethylfluorene (2) were synthesized and their static luminescence behavior assessed. They show solution photoluminescence (PL) maxima in chloroform at 475 nm and 467 nm, with quantum efficiencies of 54% and 52%, respectively. Double-layer LED devices with configuration ITO/PEDOT-PSS/(1 or 2)/Ca-Al emitted blue-green light with turn-on voltages of 2.5 V and emission maxima at 500 nm (2.48 eV); the...

Cosymmetry preserving finite-difference methods for convection equations in a porous medium
Karasözen, Bülent (2005-09-01)
The finite-difference discretizations for the planar problem of natural convection of incompressible fluid in a porous medium which preserve the cosymmetry property and discrete symmetries are presented. The equations in stream function and temperature are computed using staggered and non-staggered schemes in uniform and nonuniform rectangular grids. (c) 2004 IMACS. Published by Elsevier B.V. Carboligation reactivity of benzaldehyde lyase (BAL, EC 4.1.2.38) covalently attached to magnetic nanoparticles
TURAL, Bilsen; Turan, Ilke Simsek; TURAL, SERVET; Celebi, Bulent; Demir, Ayhan Sıtkı (Elsevier BV, 2013-03-31)
Epoxy-functionalized Fe3O4-SiO2 core-shell magnetic nanoparticles (epoxy-M-support) were prepared by modification with glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS) and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) methods. Pure histidine-tagged recombinant benzaldehydelyase (BAL, EC 4.1.238) was efficiently immobilized onto the epoxy-M-support with covalent binding. An immobilized BAL epoxy-M-support system was tested to cat...
