Electronic structure of the chainlike compound TlSe
Ellialtıoğlu, Süleyman Şinasi; Mete, E; Shaltaf, R; Allakhverdiev, K; Gashimzade, F; Nizametdinova, M; Orudzhev, G (American Physical Society (APS), 2004-11-01)
An ab initio pseudopotential calculation using density functional theory within the local density approximation has been performed to investigate the electronic properties of TlSe, which is of chainlike crystal geometry. The energy bands and effective masses along high symmetry directions, the density of states, and valence charge density distributions cut through various planes are presented. The results have been discussed in terms of previously existing experimental and theoretical data, and comparisons ...
Electronic absorption spectra of some binuclear and mononuclear complexes of platinum, palladium and nickel with bidentate sulfur donor ligands.

Electronic properties of the boroxine-gold interface: evidence of ultra-fast charge delocalization
Toffoli, Daniele; Stredansky, Matus; Feng, Zhijing; Balducci, Gabriele; Furlan, Sara; Stener, Mauro; Toffoli, Hande; Cvetko, Dean; Kladnik, Gregor; Morgante, Alberto; Verdini, Alberto; Dri, Carlo; Comelli, Giovanni; Fronzoni, Giovanna; Cossaro, Albano (2017-05-01)
We performed a combined experimental and theoretical study of the assembly of phenylboronic acid on the Au(111) surface, which is found to lead to the formation of triphenylboroxines by spontaneous condensation of trimers of molecules. The interface between the boroxine group and the gold surface has been characterized in terms of its electronic properties, revealing the existence of an ultra-fast charge delocalization channel in the proximity of the oxygen atoms of the heterocyclic group. More specifically...
Electronic structure of Ge-5, Ge-17, Ge-5-O, and Ge-5-SiO2 nanoparticles
Katırcıoğlu, Şenay (Elsevier BV, 2004-07-05)
Electronic structure of optimized Ge-5, Ge-17, Ge-5 - O and Ge-5 embedded in SiO2. nanoparticles have been studied by density functional theory to find out the effect of cluster size and Ge-O bond(s) on the optical energy gap between LUMO and HOMO. It was found that the optical energy gap depends on both cluster size and the number of Ge-O bonds nonlinearly. The optical energy gap was found to be in visible light range when the Ge-5 nanoparticle has been embedded in SiO2 matrix.
Electronic absorption and MCD spectra for octacyanometallate complexes M(CN)(8)(n-), M = Mo(IV), W(IV), n=4 and Mo(V), W(V), n=3
Isci, H; Mason, WR (Elsevier BV, 2004-11-15)
Electronic absorption and 8.0 T magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectra are reported for M(CN)(8)(4-), M = Mo(IV) and W(IV), in aqueous solution and M(CN)(8)(3-), M = Mo(V) and W(V), in acetonitrile solutions. In addition some absorption and MCD spectra are reported for the M(CN), 3- ions embedded in thin poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) plastic films at temperatures from 295 to 10 K. The temperature dependence of the MCD spectra confirms the presence of C terms. The solution and PMMA spectra for the both ...
