The effect of the methanol/Zn(NO3)(2) molar ratio on the particle size, BET surface area and on the rate of the crystallization have been studied. The use of excess methanol leads to a decrease in particle size and rate of crystallization. Crystals grown from solutions with methanol/Zn(NO3)(2) molar ratios of 1043 and 87 are 60 and 600 nm based on SEM images, respectively.

Calculation of the Raman and IR frequencies from the volume data at high pressures in N-2
AKAY, ÖZGE; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (2018-01-01)
Raman and IR frequencies of N-2 in the molecular state are calculated as a function of pressure up to 160 GPa by using the volume data from the literature through the mode Gruneisen parameter. By determining the Gruneisen parameters for the lattice modes and vibrons which decrease mostly with increasing pressure from the observed frequency (Raman, IR) and volume data, the Raman and IR frequencies of those modes are calculated at various pressure at room and low temperatures. We find that the Raman and IR fr...
Sorption of BB41 dye molecules using chitosan based particles from aqueous solutions: A kinetic and thermodynamic evaluation
Demirtas, Hulya; Tasar, Seyda; Kaya, Fatih; Ozer, Ahmet (2022-08-01)
In this study, starting from chitosan is a hydrophilic polymer with positively charged, it was aimed to produce chitosan-based particles and to be evaluated as a sorbent. Chitosan-based polymeric particles production was carried out by the precipitation-collection method from chitosan. Chitosan and chitosan-based sorbent were characterized. For this purpose, SEM and FTIR analyzes were used. Sorption activities of the chitosan-based polymeric particles were investigated for basic dye (basic blue 41, BB41). T...
Raman frequency shifts calculated from the volume data in naphthalene
Ozdemir, H.; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (2015-06-15)
The Raman frequencies for modes of symmetry Ag and Bg are calculated as functions of temperature (at atmospheric pressure) and pressure (at room temperature) using the observed volume data from the literature through the mode Gruneisen parameters in naphthalene. By determining the temperature and pressure dependence of the isobaric (gamma(P)) and isothermal (gamma(T)) mode Gruneisen parameters, respectively, the Raman frequencies of the modes which were calculated, are in good agreement with the observed fr...
Synthesis and characterization of aluminum alloy 7075 reinforced with silicon carbide particulates
Kalkanlı, Ali (2008-01-01)
In this study 7075 matrix alloy is chosen and SiC particles having average particle size of 29 mu m was incorporated into the alloy at the liquid state before vertical pressure casting. Four different additions of SiCp were made and the weight fractions used are 10%, 15%, 20% and 30%. Composites were processed by vertical pressure/squeeze casting machine developed at Middle East Technical University (METU) under 80 MPa pressure. The mold is specially designed to produce specimens for tensile and three point...
Synthesis of selenophene substituted benzodithiophene and fluorinated benzothiadiazole based conjugated polymers for organic solar cell applications
Cevher, Duygu; Taşkaya Aslan, Sultan; Bolayır, Eda; Hizalan Ozsoy, Gonul; UDUM, YASEMİN; Yıldırım, Erol; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Çırpan, Ali (2021-12-01)
A series of alternating conjugated copolymers which contain selenophene modified benzodithiophene and fluorine bearing benzothiadiazole have been synthesized via Stille polycondensation reaction to investigate the effect of the number of fluorine atoms substituted to the benzothiadiazole. Three different polymers, PBDTSe-BT, PBDTSe-FBT and PBDTSe-FFBT, were reported and their electrochemical, spectroelectrochemical, and photovoltaic behaviors were examined. Density functional theory calculations were perfor...
