Polarizabilities of shallow donors in GaAs/AlxGa1−xAs quantum wells are calculated with use of the Hasse variational method within the effective-mass approximation. The magnetic field dependence of polarizabilities is also studied.

Polarizabilities of shallow donors in finite-barrıer quantum-wells
Ilaiwi, K.F.; Tomak, Mehmet (1990-08-15)
Polarizabilities of shallow donors in finite-barrier GaAs/AlxGa1−xAs quantum wells are calculated with use of the Hasse variational method within the effective-mass approximation. The magnetic field dependence of polarizabilities is also studied.
Bifunctional 2-aminodmap/thiourea catalyzed enantioselective michael addition of thioacetic acid to trans-beta-nitrostyrenes
Kabasakal, Zehra; Tanyeli, Cihangir; Department of Chemistry (2013)
Michael addition reactions as an efficient method for carbon-carbon bond formations have been intensively explored in the context of enantioselective organocatalysis using aldehydes, ketones, 1,3- dicarbonyl compounds and nitroalkenes as donors. However, there are very few studies using thiol derivative as a nucleophile. In this thesis, enantioselective Michael addition reaction of thioacetic acid as Michael donor and 10 trans-β-nitrostyrene derivatives as Michael acceptors have been studied. The products o...
Nondipolar effects in the photoionization dynamics of carbon tetrafluoride
Toffolı, Danıele; Decleva, Piero (American Physical Society (APS), 2008-12-01)
The linear combination of atomic orbitals approach to the calculation of the molecular continuum spectrum with B-spline basis functions has been applied to the calculation of the first-order nondipolar corrections to the photoelectron angular distributions from carbon tetrafluoride. Dipolar and nondipolar asymmetry parameter profiles have been calculated for every single-particle orbital ionization. A comparison with the available experimental data gives good agreement for the dipolar asymmetry parameter. N...
PHOTOIONIZATION OF IMPURITIES IN QUANTUM-WELLS
ELSAID, M; Tomak, Mehmet (1992-06-01)
The dependence of photoionization cross-section on photon energy is calculated for shallow donors in quantum wells. The resulting spectra is completely different for light polarized along and perpendicular to the growth direction.
PHOTOIONIZATION OF IMPURITIES IN HETEROJUNCTIONS
ELKAWNI, MI; Tomak, Mehmet (1992-01-01)
The spectral dependence of the photoionization cross-section is calculated for shallow donors in GaAs/GaAlAs heterojunctions. The resulting spectra is found to be different for light polarized along and perpendicular to the growth direction. The calculations are repeated for both infinite- and finite-barrier models.
