The effect of chiral SU2×SU2 symmetry breaking on the predictions concerning solitonic baryon masses in the π−ρ Skyrme-Yang-Mills model is evaluated. It is found that the predictions of this model are almost identical to the corresponding predictions of the original Skyrme model. Possible ways of improving the predictions by incorporating additional mesons into the effective lagrangian are discussed.

BARYON MASSES IN THE SKYRME YANG-MILLS MODEL
EBRAHIM, A; Savcı, Mustafa (1987-07-23)
The predictions concerning solitonic baryon masses in the general nonlinear chiral SU2×SU2 invariant Yang-Mills lagrangian for pions and ϱ-mesons are obtained. It is found that the predictions of this Skyrme Yang-Mills models are almost identical to the corresponding predictions of the original Skyrme model.
Anisotropic elastic and vibrational properties of Ru2B3 and Os2B3: a first-principles investigation
Ozisik, Haci; Deligoz, Engin; Sürücü, Gökhan; Ozisik, Havva Bogaz (2016-07-01)
The structural, mechanical and lattice dynamical properties of Ru2B3 and Os2B3 have been investigated by using a first-principles method based on the density functional theory within the generalized gradient approximation. The single crystal elastic constants are numerically estimated using strain-stress approach. The polycrystalline aggregate elastic parameters are calculated from the single elastic constants via the Voigt-Reuss-Hill approximations. Subsequently, the ductility and brittleness are character...
Anisotropic Elastic and Lattice Dynamical Properties of Cr2AB MAX Phases Compounds
Gencer, Ayşenur; Yılmaz, İnanç; Bayhan, Ülkü; Sürücü, Gökhan (2019-03-01)
The structural, mechanical and lattice dynamical properties of the MAX Phase borides compounds Cr2AB (A= Al, P, Si) have been investigated using the first principles calculations with the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) based on Density Functional Theory (DFT). The obtained negative formation energies of Cr2AB indicate that these compounds are stable and could be synthesized. Some basic physical parameters such as lattice constants, elastic constants, bulk modulus, Shear modulus, Young’s modulus, a...
Lepton flavor conserving Z -> l(+)l(-) decays in the general two Higgs doublet model
Iltan, EO (2002-02-01)
We calculate the new physics effects to the branching ratios of the lepton flavor conserving decays Z - l(+)l(-) in the framework of the general two Higgs doublet model. We predict the upper limits for the couplings \(xi) over bar (D)(N,mutau)\ and \(xi) over bar (D)(N,tautau)\ as 3 x 10(2) GeV and 1 x 10(2) GeV, respectively.
Pseudospin symmetry solution of the Dirac equation with an angle-dependent potential
Berkdemir, Cueneyt; Sever, Ramazan (IOP Publishing, 2008-02-01)
The pseudospin symmetry solution of the Dirac equation for spin 1/2 particles moving within the Kratzer potential connected with an angle-dependent potential is investigated systematically. The Nikiforov-Uvarov method is used to solve the Dirac equation. All of the studies are performed for the exact pseudospin symmetry (SU2) case and also the exact spin symmetry case is given briefly in the appendix. Bound-state solutions are presented to discuss the contribution of the angle-dependent potential to the rel...
