A red to NIR emitting, highly Ca2+-specific fluorescent chemosensor has been synthesized. In pH 7.2 aqueous buffers, the chemosensor signals Ca2+ by a decrease in emission intensity, whereas large excess of Mg2+ ions have no effect on either the absorption or the emission spectrum. The chemosensor is likely to be the prototype of a new generation of laser-diode excitable fluorescent chemosensors for Calcium. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.

One-pot synthesis of a red-fluorescent chemosensor from an azacrown, phloroglucinol and squaric acid: A simple in-solution construction of a functional molecular device.
Oguz, U; Akkaya, EU (1997-06-23)
A long wavelength fluorescent, squaraine-based chemosensor has been synthesized in one step from commercially available precursors. The resulting squaraine derivative absorbs maximally at 635 nm (epsilon = 260,000) and the emission peak is at 665 nm. This azacrown-appended squaraine signals alkaline and earth-alkaline metal ions in millimolar concentrations in acetonitrile. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
An amperometric acetylcholine biosensor based on a conducting polymer
Kanik, Fulya Ekiz; Kolb, Marit; TİMUR, SUNA; Bahadir, Muefit; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2013-08-01)
An amperometric acetylcholine biosensor was prepared by the generation of the conducting polymer poly(4-(2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrrol-1-yl)benzenamine) (poly(SNS-NH2)) on graphite electrodes. For pesticide detection, the enzymes acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and choline oxidase (ChO) were co-immobilized onto the conducting polymer poly(SNS-NH2) films using covalent binding technique. Electrochemical polymerization was carried out using a three-electrode cell configuration via cyclic voltammetry. Characteri...
A Diverse-Stimuli Responsive Chemiluminescent Probe with Luminol Scaffold and Its Electropolymerization
Asil Alptekin, Demet; Algi, Fatih; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (Wiley, 2010-10-01)
A diverse-stimuli responsive chemiluminescent system, SNS-Lum, and its electropolymerization to give PSNS-Lum, which is the first example of conjugated polymers with pendant luminol arms inducing chemiluminescence in the presence of super oxide radical anion under neutral conditions, are highlighted.
A promising enzyme anchoring probe for selective ethanol sensing in beverages
Soylemez, Saniye; Goker, Seza; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2019-07-15)
A newly designed amperometric biosensor for the determination of ethanol through one-step electrochemical coating of (4,7-di(thiophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]selenadiazole-co-1H-pyrrole-3-carboxylic acid) (TBeSe-co-P3CA) on a graphite electrode is presented. It was aimed to propose a newly synthesized copolymer with enhanced biosensing properties as a novel sensor for the quantification of ethanol. The conjugated copolymer (TBeSe-co-P3CA) was prepared through electrochemical polymerization by potential cycling....
Novel squaraine signalling Zn(II) ions: three-state fluorescence response to a single input
Dilek, G; Akkaya, EU (2000-05-06)
A novel metal ion sensitive 2,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indole-derived squaraine dye showing different fluorescence responses depending on the complexation stoichiometry has been synthesized. Thus, three levels of signals are attainable by varying the Zn(II) ion concentration.
