Colladay and Kostelecky have proposed a framework for studying Lorentz and CPT violation in a natural extension of the standard model. Although numerous bounds exist on the Lorentz and CPT violating parameters in the gauge boson and fermion sectors, there are no published bounds on the parameters in the Higgs sector. We determine these bounds. The bounds on the CPT-even asymmetric coefficients arise from the one-loop contributions to the photon propagator, those from the CPT-even symmetric coefficients arise from the equivalent c(munu) coefficients in the fermion sector, and those from the CPT-odd coefficient arise from bounds on the vacuum expectation value of the Z boson.

Multinucleon transfer in central collisions of U-238+U-238
Ayik, S.; YILMAZ, BÜLENT; YILMAZ TÜZÜN, ÖZGÜL; Umar, A. S.; Turan, Gürsevil (2017-08-14)
Quantal diffusion mechanism of nucleon exchange is studied in the central collisions of U-238 + U-238 in the framework of the stochastic mean-field (SMF) approach. For bombarding energies considered in this work, the dinuclear structure is maintained during the collision. Hence, it is possible to describe nucleon exchange as a diffusion process for mass and charge asymmetry. Quantal neutron and proton diffusion coefficients, including memory effects, are extracted from the SMF approach and the primary fragm...
Nonlinear Structural Coupling: Experimental Application
Kalaycioglu, Taner; Özgüven, Hasan Nevzat (2014-02-06)
In this work, the nonlinear structural modification/coupling technique proposed recently by the authors is applied to a test system in order to study the applicability of the method to real structures. The technique is based on calculating the frequency response functions of a modified system from those of the original system and the dynamic stiffness matrix of the nonlinear modifying part. The modification can also be in the form of coupling a nonlinear system to the original system. The test system used i...
Numerical investigation of characteristics of pitch and roll damping coefficients for missile models
Kayabaşı, İskander; Kurtuluş, Dilek Funda; Department of Aerospace Engineering (2012)
In this thesis the characteristics of pitch and roll damping coefficients of missile models are investigated by using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques. Experimental data of NACA0012 airfoil, Basic Finner (BF) and Modified Basic Finner (MBF) models are used for validation and verification studies. Numerical computations are performed from subsonic to supersonic flow regimes. Grid refinement and turbulence model selection studies are conducted before starting the dynamic motion simulations. Numer...
Scalar mesons in radiative phi-meson decays into neutral k-meson states
Korkmaz (Şişman), Canan; Yılmaz, Osman; Department of Physics (2006)
Radiative Decays of the phi-meson to the scalar mesons f0(980) and a0(980) are investigated within the framework of charged kaon loop model for both point-like scalar mesons and for scalar mesons with extended structure. Then, the radiative phi-meson decay into neutral K-meson is studied via a two step mechanism in which the scalar mesons couple the final state to the phi-meson through the charged kaon loop. The branching ratio of this decay is calculated and it is shown that this reaction will not provide ...
Implementation of turbulence models on 2d hybrid grids using an explicit/implicit multigrid algorithm
Yılmaz, Ali Emre; Tuncer, İsmail Hakkı; Department of Aerospace Engineering (2011)
In this thesis study, implementation, numerical stability and convergence rate issues of turbulence modeling are explored. For this purpose, a one equation turbulence model, Spalart-Allmaras, and a two-equation turbulence model, SST k-w, are adapted to an explicit, cell centered, finite volume method based, structured / hybrid multi grid flow solver, SENSE2D, developed at TUBITAK-SAGE. Governing equations for both the flow and the turbulence are solved in a loosely coupled manner, however, each set of equat...
