Constraints on couplings of several beyond-Standard-Model-physics scenarios, mediated by massive intermediate particles including ( 1) an extra Z-prime, ( 2) a new light spin-1 boson, and ( 3) a charged Higgs boson, are placed via the neutrino-electron scattering channel to test the Standard Model at a low energy-momentum transfer regime. Data on (nu) over bar (e) - e and nu(e) - e scattering from the TEXONO and LSND, respectively, are used. Upper bounds to coupling constants of the flavor-conserving and flavor-violating new light spin-1 boson and the charged Higgs boson with respect to different mediator masses are determined. The relevant parameter spaces are extended by allowing light mediators. New lower mass limits for extra Z-prime gauge boson models are also placed.

Search for Neutral Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model Higgs Bosons Decaying to Tau Pairs in pp Collisions at root s=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (2011-06-01)
A search for neutral minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) Higgs bosons in pp collisions at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV is presented. The results are based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 pb(-1) recorded by the CMS experiment. The search uses decays of the Higgs bosons to tau pairs. No excess is observed in the tau-pair invariant-mass spectrum. The resulting upper limits on the Higgs boson production cross section times branching fraction to tau pairs,...
Constraints on anomalous Higgs boson couplings using production and decay information in the four-lepton final state
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2017-12-01)
A search is performed for anomalous interactions of the recently discovered Higgs boson using matrix element techniques with the information from its decay to four leptons and from associated Higgs boson production with two quark jets in either vector boson fusion or associated production with a vector boson. The data were recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 38.6 fb(-1). They are combined with the data collected at cent...
Study of high mass Higgs using pp -> qqH
Yildiz, HD; Zeyrek, Mehmet Tevfik (2003-08-01)
The observability of the Higgs signal in the mass range of 200-800 GeV is investigated in the weak boson fusion channel at the CMS experiment at LHC. The weak boson fusion channel is characterized by two final state jets at large pseudorapidity. The forward calorimeter plays a key role in detecting these jets. The significant signals are obtained for H --> WW --> lvjj, H --> ZZ --> lljj and H --> ZZ --> llvv. Importance of the forward jet tagging and the central jet veto is emphasized to extract the signal ...
Constraints on parton distribution functions and extraction of the strong coupling constant from the inclusive jet cross section in pp collisions at root s=7TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2015-06-01)
The inclusive jet cross section for proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV was measured by the CMS Collaboration at the LHC with data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb(-1). The measurement covers a phase space up to 2 TeV in jet transverse momentum and 2.5 in absolute jet rapidity. The statistical precision of these data leads to stringent constraints on the parton distribution functions of the proton. The data provide important input for the gluon density at high fra...
Bounding the tau neutrino magnetic moment from the process e(+)e(-) -> gamma nu(nu)over-bar
Aydemir, A; Sever, Ramazan (2001-03-07)
In a class of Es inspired models with a light additional neutral vector boson, we discuss the effects of the magnetic moment of the tau neutrino by analyzing e(+)e(-) --> nu(nu )over bar> at the Z-pole. We take into account present scenarios for the extra Abelian group and vary extra neutral gauge boson mass beyond the present experimental exclusion limits. The present LEP experimental results prove that we can set an upper bound on the magnetic moment of the tan neutrino: K-nuT less than or equal to 1.83 x...
