Characterization of primary and permanent teeth using terahertz spectroscopy
KAMBUROĞLU, KIVANÇ; Yetimoglu, N. O.; Altan, Hakan (British Institute of Radiology, 2014-07-01)
Objectives: To analyse teeth samples by using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) system that was developed in the laboratory to measure the properties of sliced teeth sections in transmission mode.
A cross "ethnical" comparison of the Driver Behaviour Questionnaire (DBQ) in an economically fast developing country.
BENER, Abdulbari; VERJEE, Mohamud; DAFEEAH, Elnour E; YOUSAFZAİ, Mohammad T; MARİ, Sundus; HASSİB, Ahmed; Al-Khatib, Hamza; CHOİ, Min Kyung; NEMA, Noor; Özkan, Türker; Lajunen, Timo (Canadian Center of Science and Education, 2013-01-01)
The aim of this study was to compare the driving behaviours of four ethnic groups and to investigate the relationship between violations, errors and lapses of DBQ and accident involvement in Qatar. Subjects and Methods: The Driver Behaviour Questionnaire (DBQ) was used to measure the aberrant driving behaviours leading to accidents. Of 2400 drivers approached, 1824 drivers agreed to participate (76%) and completed the driver behaviour questionnaire and background information. Results: The study revealed tha...
Malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the mandible
Senel, FC; Bektas, D; Caylan, R; Onder, E; Gunhan, O (British Institute of Radiology, 2006-03-01)
We report a case of malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) primary within the mandible of a 32year-old female. The mandible is a rare location of MFH, accounting for only 3% of all tumours of this type occurring within bone. The clinical, pathological and radiographic features are discussed with special emphasis on the radiographic features of this lesion.
A different perspective for radiological evaluation of experimental osteomyelitis
Aktekin, Cem Nuri; Ozturk, Akif Muhtar; Tabak, Abdullah Yalcin; Altay, Murat; Korkusuz, Feza (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2007-10-01)
Introduction Radiological scoring systems used in experimental osteomyelitis combine several factors into a single score. Because response of bone tissue to infection is a dynamic process, such systems have limited ability to differentiate between treatment groups. The analyzing of radiological criteria separately at different stages of the disease may be superior to a general score.
Quantitative measurements obtained by micro-computed tomography and confocal laser scanning microscopy
KAMBUROĞLU, KIVANÇ; Barenboim, S. F.; Arituerk, T.; Kaffe, I. (British Institute of Radiology, 2008-10-01)
Objectives: To compare measurements obtained by micro-CT with those obtained by confocal laser scanning microscope in simulative internal resorption cavities.
