Properties of Neon, Magnesium, and Silicon Primary Cosmic Rays Results from the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer
Aguilar, M.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2020-05-29)
We report the observation of new properties of primary cosmic rays, neon (Ne), magnesium (Mg), and silicon (Si), measured in the rigidity range 2.15 GV to 3.0 TV with 1.8 x 10(6) Ne, 2.2 x 10(6) Mg, and 1.6 x 10(6) Si nuclei collected by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer experiment on the International Space Station. The Ne and Mg spectra have identical rigidity dependence above 3.65 GV. The three spectra have identical rigidity dependence above 86.5 GV, deviate from a single power law above 200 GV, and harde...
Properties of doubly and triply heavy baryons
AZİZİ, KAZEM; Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (2014-07-26)
We calculate the mass and residue of the doubly/triply heavy spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 baryons containing two/three heavy b or c quarks in the framework of QCD sum rules. We use the most general interpolating currents in symmetric and anti-symmetric forms with respect to the exchange of heavy quarks, to calculate the two-point correlation functions describing the baryons under consideration. A comparison of the obtained results with the existing experimental data as well as predictions of other theoretical appr...
Properties of Cosmic Helium Isotopes Measured by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer
Aguilar, M.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2019-11-01)
Precision measurements by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) on the International Space Station of He-3 and He-4 fluxes are presented. The measurements are based on 100 million He-4 nuclei in the rigidity range from 2.1 to 21 GV and 18 million He-3 from 1.9 to 15 GV collected from May 2011 to November 2017. We observed that the He-3 and He-4 fluxes exhibit nearly identical variations with time. The relative magnitude of the variations decreases with increasing rigidity. The rigidity dependence of the He-...
Fabrication and characterization of Si-PIN photodiodes
Doganci, Emre; Kaya, Senol; Aktag, Aliekber; Duman, Elif Sarigul; Turan, Raşit; Karacali, Huseyin; Yilmaz, Ercan (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, 2019-01-01)
In this work, characteristics of silicon-based p(+) type, intrinsic (I), n(-) type (Si-PIN) photodiodes with active area of 3.5 x 3.5 mm(2), 5.0 x 5.0 mm(2), or 7.0 x 7.0 mm(2) and their possible usage in optoelectronics were studied. The devices were fabricated in the Radiation Detector Application and Research Center (NURDAM) of Bolu Abant izzet Baysal University, Turkey. To acquire the device specifications, the current-voltage (I-V) and the capacitance-voltage (C-V) measurements were carried out in the ...
Coexistence of Indirect and Direct Optical Transitions, Refractive Indices, and Oscillator Parameters in TlGaS2, TlGaSe2, and TlInS2 Layered Single Crystals
Hasanlı, Nızamı (Korean Physical Society, 2010-07-01)
The optical properties of TlGaS2; TlGaSe2, and TlInS2 crystals have been investigated through transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range of 400 - 1100 nm. Optical indirect and direct band gap energies of 2.45 and 2.63 eV (TlGaS2), 1.97 and 2.26 eV (TlGaSe2), 2.27 and 2.47 eV (TlInS2) were found by analyzing the absorption data at room temperature. The transmission measurements carried out in the temperature range of 10 - 300 K revealed that the rates of change of the indirect band gaps...
