Microwave-Assisted Simultaneous Synthesis of Conducting and Non-Conducting Polymers from Potassium 2,4,6-Tribromophenolate
Celik, Gueler Bayrakli; Kisakurek, Duygu (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2009-01-01)
A simultaneous synthesis of white poly(dibromophenylene oxide) (P) or yellow radical ion polymer (RIP) and black conducting polymer (CP) were achieved from potassium 2,4,6-tribromophenolate by microwave energy in a very short time. Polymerizations were carried out (i) under constant microwave energy and constant amount of water with different time intervals ranging from I to 7 min or (ii) at constant time intervals and constant amount of water with variation of microwave energy ranging from 70 to 900 watt o...
Conducting polymers of terepthalic acid bis-(2-thiophen-3-yl-ethyl) ester and their electrochromic properties
Coskun, Y; Çırpan, Ali; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2004-07-12)
Terepthalic acid bis-(2-thiophen-3-yl-ethyl)ester (TATE) was synthesized through the reaction of 2-thiophen-3-yl-ethanol and terepthaloyl chloride. Homopolymer of TATE was synthesized via potentiostatic and potentiodynamic methods by using tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TBAFB) as the supporting electrolyte in dichloromethane/borontrifluoride ethylether solvent mixture(DM/BFEE) (8:2, v/v). Copolymerisation of TATE with thiophene was achieved in DM/BFEE solvent mixture (8:2, v/v) by using TBAFB as the ...
Radiation-induced solid-state copolymerization in binary acrylamide-maleic anhydride systems
Nugay, T.; Küçükyavuz, S. (Elsevier BV, 1990-5)
γ-Ray-initiated copolymerization of acrylamide and maleic anhydride was studied in the solid state at 25°C. The polymeric product was found to be free of the homopolymers. The mole fraction of acrylamide in the monomer mixture was varied from 0.33 to 0.91. The copolymerization reached a ‘limiting conversion’ the value of which was dependent on the composition of the monomer feed. The mole fraction of maleic anhydride in the copolymers did not exceed 0.50 and the compositions of copolymers obtained from acry...
Multivariate Forecasting of Global Horizontal Irradiation Using Deep Learning Algorithms
Vakitbilir, Nuray; Direkoğlu, Cem; Sustainable Environment and Energy Systems (2021-2-11)
Increasing photovoltaic (PV) panel instalments jeopardise the electrical grid frequency, especially in island countries, such as Cyprus. For a continuous growth in the PV instalments in Northern Cyprus as well as minimal usage of conventional energy sources in power generation, it is of utter importance for a grid manager to possess information on the energy production of PV panels, hence knowledge on received radiation, i.e. Global Horizontal Irradiation (GHI). Therefore, the prediction of GHI plays an ess...
Simulation of yacht movements in Göcek Bays
Genç (Numanoğlu), Aslı; Özhan, Erdal; Department of Civil Engineering (2004)
Fethiye-Göcek area is one of the nine coastal Specially Protected Area (SPA) in Turkey. Since mid-80̕s Göcek town has developed to be a yachting center, and the bays of Göcek have acquired a well-earned international fame as a paradise for boating vacations. However, the uncontrolled yachting in this bay area presents a growing pressure on the environment, and the coastal and marine ecosystem. In this thesis a computer model for simulating the movements of yachts in Göcek Bays is developed. The computer mod...
