We analyze the effect of postdeposition annealing conditions on both the structure and the created defects in Zn0.90Co0.10O thin films, which deposited on the Si(100) substrates by the radio frequency magnetron sputtering technique using a homemade target. The dependence of the number and distribution of defects in homogeneously substituted Co+2 for Zn+2 ions in ZnO lattice on the annealing conditions is investigated. Orientations of thin films are in the [0002] direction with a surface roughness changing from 67 +/- 2 nm to 25.8 +/- 0.6 nm by annealing. The Co+2 ion substitution, changing from 7.5% +/- 0.3% to 8.8 +/- 0.3%, leads to the formation of Zn-O-Co bonds instead of Zn-O-Zn bonds and splitting of the Co 2p energy level to Co 2p(1/2) and Co 2p(3/2) with an energy difference of 15.67 +/- 0.06 eV. The defects in the lattice are revealed from the correlations between Zn-O-Co bonds and intensity of the Raman peak at around 691 cm(-1). In addition, the asymmetry changes of O 1s peak positions in the x-ray photoelectron spectra are in agreement with the Raman results.

THE EFFECT OF A 3RD COMPONENT IMPURITY-C ON THE HEAT-CAPACITY OF A3B-TYPE ORDERED ALLOYS
Mehrabov, Amdulla; MATYSINA, ZA (Wiley, 1989-12-01)
For the first time theoretical (in terms of the classical theory of ordering) and experimental (with the adiabatic calorimeter method) investigations are made of the effect of a third component impurity C on the heat capacity of A3B‐type ordered alloys with FCC structure. The effect of the impurities Mn, Cr, Mo, or W on the heat capacity of Ni3Fe alloys is analysed as an example. The comparison of the theoretical results with the experimental data shows good qualitative agreement.
The effect of antenna in the forward model of near field microwave imaging systems
Dalkilic, Akin; Alatan, Lale (2019-07-01)
A fast and accurate forward problem solver for near-field microwave imaging systems is developed by considering the electric field intensity as the measured quantity. Since the antenna port voltage values will be the real measured quantity in practical applications, the effects of transmitting/receiving antennas in the forward problem model is investigated.
The characterization of polyaniline and polypyrrole composites by pyrolysis mass spectrometry
Hacaloğlu, Jale; Kücukyavuz, Zühal (2009-09-05)
hi this work, direct insertion probe pyrolysis mass spectrometry technique was applied to investigate the thermal and structural characteristics of electrochemically prepared polyaniline (PANI), polypyrrole (PPy), and their composites/copolymers synthesized either by electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole on PANI-coated electrode (PANI/PPy) or by coating PANI on PPy (PPy/PANI) in H(2)SO(4) solutions. It has been determined that the polymer first coated on the electrode degraded to a certain extent during...
The Analysis of Inhomogeneous Barrier Height in In/SnTe/Si/Ag Diode
Güllü, Hasan Hüseyin; YILDIZ, DİLBER ESRA (2018-12-01)
SnTe thin film layer was fabricated by magnetron sputtering technique on n-Si substrate, and the electrical properties of the In/SnTe/Si/Ag diode structure was investigated by using temperature dependent forward bias current-voltage (I-V) measurements. The main diode parameters were calculated according to the thermionic emission (TE) model and they were found in an abnormal behavior with change in temperate in which zero-bias barrier height (Phi(B0)) increases and ideality factor (n) decreases with increas...
The effect of lime addition on the combustion properties and sulfur contents of three different coals
Ozbas, Kazim Esber; Hiçyilmaz, Cahit; Kök, Mustafa Verşan (2002-01-01)
In this research, combustion characterization of 3 different coals of Turkey, from the Soma, Tuncbilek, and Afsin Elbistan regions, were investigated with thermal analysis techniques such as differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetry (TG/DTG). Lime was added to these coals in concentrations of 3, 7, and 10% by weight to investigate the change in combustible sulfur content and sulfur in ash. It was observed that lime has a positive effect on sulfur emission. Kinetic analysis was also perfor...
