Design of settling basins and related problems encountered in practice
Zaloğlu, Fatma Deniz; Göğüş, Mustafa; Department of Civil Engineering (2013)
Settling basins are the hydraulic structures used to get sediment-free water from rivers mostly for hydropower systems. Mainly fine sediment is trapped along the settling basins and from time to time the accumulated sediment in the settling basin is flushed away. A wrong design of a settling basin creates lots of problems. In this study based on the hydraulic analysis of a settling basin, the available settling basin design procedures in the literature were reviewed. Some of the settling basins constructed ...
Design of a high-precision, 0.5 m aperture Cassegrain collimator
Karci, Ozgur; Ekinci, Mustafa (The Optical Society, 2020-09-01)
We present the realization of a high-precision, 0.5m aperture size Cassegrain collimator system. The optical design, the optomechanical design, the mirror manufacturing, and the telescope alignment with a performance evaluation are extensively discussed. The optical design of the collimator is based on the Cassegrain telescope design with two aspheric mirrors. An athermalized, high stability optomechanical structure is conceived for the collimator to meet stringent performance requirements. The high-quality...
Design of a fully-static differential low-power CMOS flip-flop
Yalcin, T; Ismailoglu, N (1999-06-02)
A fully-static flip-flop structure is proposed and compared to both the conventional CMOS flip-flop and the Cascode Voltage Switch Logic (CVSL) static flip-flop proposed by Yuan and Svensson [1], in terms of speed, power consumption and silicon area. Then an add-and-delay circuit is implemented using all three flip-flop structures to demonstrate the performance of the proposed flip-flop. The add-and-delay structure is chosen since it is a widely used block in digital signal processing. The proposed structur...
