Sosyal temas kuramları, gruplar arası ilişkileri düzenlemek adına yöntemler sunan kuramlardır. Bu kuramlar Allport’un (1954) sosyal temas hipoteziyle başlamış ve daha sonra yayılmacı temas ve hayali temas kuramlarıyla farklı durumlara uygun temas çözümleri sunarak devam etmiştir. Bu makalenin amacı, psikoloji yazınında en eski kuramlardan biri olan gruplar arası temas kuramını ve bu kurama dayanan yayılmacı temas ve hayali temas kuramlarını alanda yapılmış çalışmalar ile derleyerek ilgili yazına Türkçe bir kaynak sağlamaktadır. Bu amaçla hazırlanan bu makale temelde dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. İlk bölüm, gruplar arası temas kuramının tarihsel gelişimini ve yapılan çalışmalar sonucu ortaya çıkarılan etkilerini ve süreçlerini içermektedir. Bu bölümde ayrıca iki alt başlık bulunmaktadır. Bu alt başlıklar Allport’un (1954) sosyal temas hipotezinde ve Pettigrew’in (1998) gruplar arası temas kuramında bulunan savları ve ilgili bulguları içermektedir. İkinci bölüm, yayılmacı temas kuramını; üçüncü bölüm hayali temas kuramını ve bu kuramların yazındaki varsayımlarını ve bulgularını içermektedir. Dördüncü ve son bölümde Türkiye’de yapılmış çalışmalar ve bulgular sunulmaktadır.
