Single-Step Periodic Photoelectrochemical Texturing of Silicon for Photovoltaics
Avishan, Nardin; Akbıyık, Alp; Yüce, Emre; Bek, Alpan (2020-09-11)
Compared to antireflection coatings, surface texturing achieved by wet and dry etching methods is an efficient and long-lasting technique for reflection reduction by enhancing light trapping. In this work, laser-assisted wet chemical etching, or more commonly, photoelectrochemical etching (PEC-etching) is introduced as an alternative texturing technique with high application potential to thin silicon (Si) wafers and multi-crystalline Si solar cells. In this method, high power laser radiation is used to crea...
SINGLE PRODUCTION OF NEW GAUGE Z' BOSONS AND LEPTOQUARKS AT FUTURE E+E- COLLIDERS
Alıyev, Tahmasıb (1990-10-01)
The production of single scalar (fermionic) leptoquarks and new gauge Z' bosons in e+ e- collisions at square-root s = 2 TeV (the CLIC project) is studied in the Weizsacker-Williams approximation. It is shown that the cross section for these processes is large and completely detectable if the total luminosity is L = 10(33) cm-2.sec-1. Explicit analytic expressions are obtained for the visible electron spectrum in all cases. It follows from the analysis that study of the visible electron spectra is a very ef...
Single station sigma for Turkish strong motion stations
Akkar, Sinan; Ertuğrul, Zehra (2017-01-01)
As ground motion observations over long enough time periods are unavailable for majority of sites, most of the ground motion prediction equations have been derived using observed data from multiple stations and seismic sources, and standard deviations (sigmas) of these equations are related to the statistics of the spatial variability of ground motion instead of temporal variability at a single site (ergodic assumption). This is one of the major shortcomings of carrying out site specific seismic hazard asse...
Multi-tone representation of arbitrary waveforms and application to the analysis of nonlinear amplifiers and feedforward linearizers
Mutlu, Ahmet; Demir, Şimşek; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2005)
Characterization of nonlinear systems is a challenging task as the output can not be expressed simply in terms of input signal. Therefore, a universal analysis method is essential to simplify this procedure. Modeling of the input signal is a crucial part of such analysis. In this thesis, multi-tone representation is employed to model arbitrary, stochastically not well-defined input signals and thereafter characterize nonlinear systems. In order to verify the validity of multitone representation, multi-tone ...
