Impedance spectroscopy of N-substituted oligo-oxyethylene polypyrrole films

Önal, Ahmet Muhtar
The electrochemical properties of neutral (dedoped) and oxidized (doped) poly(1,11-bis(1,1-pyrrole)-3,6,9-trioxaundecane) (poly-I) film electrodes were investigated using cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques. Poly-I was deposited on glassy carbon electrode (GCE) from acetonitrile solution containing 5.0 x 10(-3) M 1,11-bis(1,1-pyrrole)-3,6,9-trioxaundecane (I) and 0.1 M LiClO4 supporting electrolyte. Doped poly-I exhibits a single semicircle in its complex-capacitance plots, indicating a single dominant ion transport process, together with high capacitance values. These features make this polymer film a candidate for an energy storage material. Also, poly-I can be a candidate as a sensory material for the detection of Ag+ based on impedance parameters. Simultaneous novel synthesis of conducting, nonconducting, and crosslinked polymers by microwave initiation
Çelik, Güler (Wiley, 2006-12-15)
A novel synthesis of poly(dibromophenylene oxide) (P), conducting polymer (CP), and/or crosslinked polymer (CLP), and/or radical ion polymers (RIP) was achieved simultaneously from sodium 2,4,6-tribromophenolate by microwave energy in a very short-time interval. The synthesized polymers were characterized via elemental analysis, FTIR, H-1 NMR and C-13 NMR, X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, SEM, DSC, TGA, ESR, GPC, conductivity measurement, and light scattering. It was found that polymerization proceeds throug...
Electrorheological properties of kaolinite, polyindole, and polyindole/kaolinite composite suspensions
Arslan, Yasin; Unal, Halil Ibrahim; Yilmaz, Hasim; Sari, Bekir (Wiley, 2007-06-05)
In this study, polyindole (PIN) and polyindole/kaolinite (PIN/KAO) composite were synthesized by free radical polymerization using FeCl3 as an initiator. Average particle sizes (d(50)) of PIN and PIN/KAO composite were determined by dynamic light scattering (DLS) as 7.2 and 6.2 mu m, respectively. The samples were characterized by FTIR, elemental analysis, DSC/TGA and SEM measurements. Suspensions of KAO, PIN, and PIN/KAO composite were prepared in silicone oil (SO) and the sedimentation stabilities were de...
Electrosynthesis of polyfuran in acetonitrile-boron trifluoride-ethyl ether mixture and its device application
Tirkeş, Süha; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (Wiley, 2007-01-15)
Electrochemical polymerization of furan was achieved in acetonitrile/boron trifluoride/ethyl ether (CH3 CN/BF3/EE) mixture in the presence of tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate via constant potential electrolysis at 1.4 V versus Ag/AgCl. Electrochemical behavior of furan was investigated in the same solvent mixture of varying ratios, utilizing cyclic voltammetry. Free-standing polyfuran (PFu) films were obtained in CH3CN/BF3/EE mixture (2/4/4; v/v/v) and characterized using FTIR spectroscopic technique. S...
Differential charging in SiO2/Si system as determined by XPS
Karadas, F; Ertaş, Gülay; Suzer, S (American Chemical Society (ACS), 2004-01-29)
The Si2p binding and the Si-KLL kinetic energy difference between the SiO2 layer and Si substrate is shown to be influenced by application of external voltage bias to the sample holder due to the differential charging as was already reported earlier (Ulgut, B.; Suzer, S. J. Phys. Chem. B 2003, 107, 2939). The cause of this bias induced (physical)-shift is now proven to be mostly due to partial neutralization by the stray electrons within the vacuum system by (i) introducing additional stray electrons via a ...
Effect of low-energy electron irradiation on (Bi, Pb)-2212 superconductors
Ogun, SE; Goktas, H; Ozkan, H; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Elsevier BV, 2005-06-22)
The effect of low-energy electron irradiation on the properties of the Bi-based superconductors is studied. Two sets of polycrystalline (Bi, Pb)-2212 samples were synthesized by heating the appropriate mixtures of powders at 840 degrees C for 100 h, then quenched or furnace cooled to room temperature. The samples were irradiated by low-energy (1-10 keV), pulsed (20 ns) electron beam up to a dose of 6.2 x 10(15) cm(-2). X- ray diffraction patterns, resistance-temperature behaviours, critical currents, and mi...
