Investigation of the effect of air cooling flow rates on engine life and performance of the air-cooled multi-cylinder in-line diesel engine.

Investigation of the Linear Stability Problem of Electrified Jets, Inviscid Analysis
Özgen, Serkan; Uzol, Oğuz (2012-09-01)
The instability characteristics of a liquid jet discharging from a nozzle into a stagnant gas are investigated using the linear stability theory. Starting with the equations of motion for incompressible, inviscid, axisymmetric flows in cylindrical coordinates, a dispersion relation is obtained, where the amplification factor of the disturbance is related to its wave number. The parameters of the problem are the laminar velocity profile shape parameter, surface tension, fluid densities, and electrical charge...
Investigation of the particle breakage parameters in locked-cycle ball milling
Acar, Cemil; Hoşten, Çetin; Department of Mining Engineering (2012)
Size reduction processes, particularly fine grinding systems, in mineral processing and cement production plants constitute a great portion of energy consumption and operating costs. Therefore, the grinding systems should be designed properly and operated under optimum conditions to achieve productive and cost effective operations. The use of simulation based on kinetic mathematical models of grinding has proven useful in this respect. The kinetic models contain two essential parameters, namely, breakage ra...

Investigation of the effect of design parameters on vapor chamber heat transfer characteristic
Karakaya, İrem; Bayer, Özgür; Dursunkaya, Zafer; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2022-11-25)
In this study, a detailed two-phase computational modeling of a vapor chamber is performed. A code written in MATLAB is used to accurately simulate the phase-change process within the wick structure. Conservation of mass is satisfied by matching the evaporated and condensed fluid mass flow rates. Secant Method is used to find vapor temperature. The current model is validated and then, wall temperature, pressure, and mass flow rate distributions of the working fluid are calculated and plotted. Parametric stu...
