Tectonomagmatic evolution of bimodal plutons in the central Anatolian crystalline complex, Turkey: A reply

Tectonic evolution of the Gediz Graben: field evidence for an episodic, two-stage extension in western Turkey
Bozkurt, Erdin (Cambridge University Press (CUP), 2004-01-01)
Western Turkey is one of the most spectacular regions of widespread active continental extension in the world. The most prominent structures of this region are E-W-trending grabens (e.g. Gediz and Buyuk Menderes grabens) and intervening horsts, exposing the Menderes Massif. This paper documents the result of a recent field campaign (field geological mapping and structural analysis) along the southern margin of the modern Gediz Graben of Pliocene (similar to 5 Ma) age. This work provides field evidence that ...
Proterozoic ophiolites and mafic-ultramafic complexes marginal to the Istanbul Block: An exotic terrane of Avalonian affinity in NW Turkey
Bozkurt, Erdin; YİĞİTBAŞ, ERDİNÇ; Ottley, Christopher J. (Elsevier BV, 2008-12-01)
Among the Proterozoic inliers in the Istanbul Block, the lowest structural levels are exposed in the Sunnice Massif, north of Bolu. Amphibolite-facies mafic and subordinate ultramafic rocks of the Cele meta-ophiolite underlie the greenschist-facies Ediacaran calc-alkaline Yellice metavolcanics, which are intruded by the similar to 565-576 Ma Dirgine granitoids. Homblende gneisses of the Cele meta-ophiolite comprise island arc metatholeiites and transitional to calc-alkaline metabasalts which, together with ...
Plio-Quaternary extensional tectonics of the Central Anatolian Plateau: a case study from the Tuz Golu Basin, Turkey
ÖZSAYIN, ERMAN; Ciner, T. Attila; Rojay, Fuat Bora; DİRİK, RAMAZAN KADİR; Melnick, Daniel; Fernandez-Blanco, David; Bertotti, Giovanni; Schildgen, Taylor F.; Garcin, Yannick; Strecker, Manfred R.; Sudo, Masafumi (2013-01-01)
The Tuz Golu Basin is the largest sedimentary depression located at the center of the Central Anatolian Plateau, an extensive, low-relief region with elevations of ca. 1 km located between the Pontide and Tauride mountains. Presently, the basin morphology and sedimentation processes are mainly controlled by the extensional Tuz Golu Fault Zone in the east and the transtensional Inonu-Eskisehir Fault System in the west. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the understanding of the Plio-Quaternary def...
