Storage efficient particle filters for the out of sequence measurement problem

2008-07-03
We propose a particle filter based solution whichuses auxiliary fixed point smoothers to the problem of out ofsequence measurements. Three different cases, namely, auxil-iary extended Kalman smoother, auxiliary unscented Kalmansmoother and auxiliary particle smoother are considered forthe auxiliary fixed point smoother. The proposed filter whichcan effectively combine out of sequence measurements witharbitrary delay uses minimum storage requirements as opposedto a recently proposed alternative. The performance of our filtersis compared to the extended version of the other alternative inthe literature using a simulated scenario of a target with a highlynonlinear motion dynamics and measurement relations. Keywords: Out of sequence measurements, OOSM, parti-cle filter, fixed point smoothing.

Exact Pseudospin Symmetric Solution of the Dirac Equation for Pseudoharmonic Potential in the Presence of Tensor Potential
AYDOĞDU, OKTAY; Sever, Ramazan (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2010-04-01)
Under the pseudospin symmetry, we obtain exact solution of the Dirac equation for the pseudoharmonic potential in the presence of the tensor potential with arbitrary spin-orbit coupling quantum number kappa. The energy eigenvalue equation of the Dirac particles is found and the corresponding radial wave functions are presented in terms of confluent hypergeometric functions. We investigate the tensor potential dependence of the energy of the each state in the pseudospin doublet. It is shown that degeneracy b...
Analytical precision limits in slitless spectroscopy
Öktem, Sevinç Figen (2012-08-05)
We consider the problem of estimating emission line parameters from the measurements of a multi-order slitless spectrometer. This problem can be viewed as a multi-frame deblurring problem with shift variant Gaussian blur. By using Cramer-Rao lower bound theory, we derive analytical precision limits to this parameter estimation when the measurements are corrupted with Gaussian noise. The derivation involves an approximation to the Fisher information matrix in order to obtain closed-form expressions. An impor...
Thermal and optical properties of two molecular potentials
Eshghi, Mahdi; Sever, Ramazan; Ikhdair, Sameer M. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2019-04-01)
We solve the Schrodinger wave equation for the generalized Morse and cusp molecular potential models. In the limit of high temperature we, first, need to calculate the canonical partition function which is basically used to study the behavior of the thermodynamic functions. Based on this, we further calculate the thermodynamic quantities, such as the free energy, the entropy, the mean energy and the specific heat. Their behavior with the temperature has been investigated. In addition, the susceptibility for...
Scalar waves in a wormhole topology
Bugdayci, Necmi (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2006-05-01)
Global monochromatic solutions of the scalar wave equation axe obtained in flat wormholes of dimensions (2+1) and (3+1). The solutions are in the form of infinite series involving cylindrical and spherical wave functions, and they are elucidated by the multiple scattering method. Explicit solutions for some limiting cases are illustrated as well. The results presented in this work constitute instances of solutions of the scalar wave equation in a space-time admitting closed time-like curves.
Efficient solution of the electric and magnetic current combined-field integral equation with the multilevel fast multipole algorithm and block-diagonal preconditioning
Ergül, Özgür Salih (2009-11-04)
We consider the efficient solution of electromagnetics problems involving dielectric and composite dielectric-metallic structures, formulated with the electric and magnetic current combined-field integral equation (JMCFIE). Dense matrix equations obtained from the discretization of JMCFIE with Rao-Wilton-Glisson functions are solved iteratively, where the matrix-vector multiplications are performed efficiently with the multilevel fast multipole algorithm. JMCFIE usually provides well conditioned matrix equa...
