Lienard-Wiechert potentials of a non-Abelian Yang-Mills charge

Given the path of a point particle, one can relate its acceleration and, in general, its kinematics to the curvature scalars of its trajectory. Using this, a general ansatz is made for the Yang-Mills connection corresponding to a non-Abelian point source. The Yang-Mills field equations are then solved outside the position of the point source under physically reasonable constraints such as finite total energy flux and finite total color charge. The solutions contain the Trautman solution; moreover two of them are exact whereas one of them is found using a series expansion in 1/R, where R is the retarded distance. These solutions are new and, in their most general form, are not gauge equivalent to the original Trautman solution.

Scalar waves in spacetimes with closed timelike curves
Buğdaycı, Necmi; Başkal, Sibel; Department of Physics (2005)
The existence and -if exists- the nature of the solutions of the scalar wave equation in spacetimes with closed timelike curves are investigated. The general properties of the solutions on some class of spacetimes are obtained. Global monochromatic solutions of the scalar wave equation are obtained in flat wormholes of dimensions 2+1 and 3+1. The solutions are in the form of infinite series involving cylindirical and spherical wave functions and they are elucidated by the multiple scattering method. Explici...
Series solution of the wave equation in optic fiber
Çıldır, Sema; Çakır, Serhat; Department of Physics (2007)
In this study, the mapped Galerkin method was applied to solve the vector wave equation based on H field and to obtain the propagation constant in x y space. The vector wave equation was solved by the transformation of the infinite x y plane onto a unit square. Two-dimensional Fourier series expansions were used in the solutions. Modal fields and propagation constants of dielectric waveguides were calculated. In the first part of the study, all of the calculations were made in step index fibers. Transvers...
Critical points of D-dimensional extended gravities
Deser, S.; Liu, Haishan; Lue, H.; Pope, C. N.; Sisman, Tahsin Cagri; Tekin, Bayram (2011-03-17)
We study the parameter space of D-dimensional cosmological Einstein gravity together with quadratic curvature terms. In D < 4 there are in general two distinct (anti)-de Sitter vacua. We show that, for an appropriate choice of the parameters, there exists a critical point for one of the vacua, with only massless tensor, but neither massive tensor nor scalar, gravitons. At criticality, the linearized excitations have formally vanishing energy (as do black hole solutions). A further restriction of the paramet...
Lienard-Wiechert potentials in even dimensions
Gurses, M; Sarıoğlu, Bahtiyar Özgür (AIP Publishing, 2003-10-01)
The motion of point charged particles is considered in an even dimensional Minkowski space-time. The potential functions corresponding to the massless scalar and the Maxwell fields are derived algorithmically. It is shown that in all even dimensions particles lose energy due to acceleration. Moller energy-momentum prescription for a Locally Rotationally Symmetric space-time
Aydogdu, Oktay (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2006-07-20)
The energy distribution in the Locally Rotationally Symmetric (LRS) Bianchi type II space-time is obtained by considering the Mauler energy-momentum definition in both Einstein's theory of general relativity and teleparallel theory of relativity. The energy distribution which includes both the matter and gravitational field is found to be zero in both of these different gravitation theories. This result agrees with previous works of Cooperstock and Israelit, Rosen, Johri et al., Banerjee and Sen, Vargas, an...
