Trend Analyses of Meteorological Variables and Lake Levels for Two Shallow Lakes in Central Turkey
YAĞBASAN, ÖZLEM; Demir, Vandettin; Yazıcıgil, Hasan (2020-02-01)
Trend analyses of meteorological variables play an important role in assessing the long-term changes in water levels for sustainable management of shallow lakes that are extremely vulnerable to climatic variations. Lake Mogan and Lake Eymir are shallow lakes offering aesthetic, recreational, and ecological resources. Trend analyses of monthly water levels and meteorological variables affecting lake levels were done by the Mann-Kendall (MK), Modified Mann-Kendall (MMK), Sen Trend (ST), and Linear trend (LT) ...
Trend analysis of watershed-scale annual and seasonal precipitation in Northern California based on dynamically downscaled future climate projections
Ishida, K.; Ercan, Ali; Trinh, T.; Jang, S.; Kavvas, M. L.; Ohara, N.; Chen, Z. Q.; Kure, S.; Dib, A. (2020-03-01)
Impact of future climate change on watershed-scale precipitation was investigated over Northern California based on future climate projections by means of the dynamical downscaling approach. Thirteen different future climate projection realizations from two general circulation models (GCMs: ECHAM5 and CCSM3) based on four emission scenarios (SRES A1B, A1FI, A2, and B1) were dynamically downscaled to 9-km resolution grids over eight watersheds in Northern California for a period of 90 water years (2010-2100)...
Trend analysis of watershed-scale precipitation over Northern California by means of dynamically-downscaled CMIP5 future climate projections
Ishida, K.; Gorguner, M.; Ercan, Ali; Trinh, T.; Kavvas, M. L. (2017-08-01)
The impacts of climate change on watershed-scale precipitation through the 21st century were investigated over eight study watersheds in Northern California based on dynamically downscaled CMIP5 future climate projections from three GCMs (CCSM4, HadGEM2-ES, and MIROC5) under the RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 future climate scenarios. After evaluating the modeling capability of the WRF model, the six future climate projections were dynamically downscaled by means of the WRF model over Northern California at 9 km grid re...
Statistical modeling of hourly electricity load series in Turkey
Özpala, Pınar; Gaygısız Lajunen, Esma; Department of Economics (2013)
This study investigates Heterogeneous Double Seasonal ARIMA model, Heterogeneous Periodic AR model and a nonlinear model of Multiple Regime Logistic STAR model by application of hourly electricity load data between years 2006-2007 in Turkey. Forecast results suggest that Heterogeneous Double Seasonal ARIMA model is the best among three methods forecasting up to one day.
Seasonal variability of the Caspian Sea three-dimensional circulation, sea level and air-sea interaction
Ibrayev, R. A; Ozsoy, E; Schrum, C.; Sur, H. I. (Copernicus GmbH, 2010-3-3)
Abstract. A three-dimensional primitive equation model including sea ice thermodynamics and air-sea interaction is used to study seasonal circulation and water mass variability in the Caspian Sea under the influence of realistic mass, momentum and heat fluxes. River discharges, precipitation, radiation and wind stress are seasonally specified in the model, based on available data sets. The evaporation rate, sensible and latent heat fluxes at the sea surface are computed interactively through an atmo...
