The pion-baryon sigma terms and the strange-quark condensates of the octet and the decuplet baryons are calculated by employing the method of QCD sum rules. We evaluate the vacuum-to-vacuum transition matrix elements of two baryon interpolating fields in an external isoscalar-scalar field and use a Monte Carlo-based approach to systematically analyze the sum rules and the uncertainties in the results. We extract the ratios of the sigma terms, which have rather high accuracy and minimal dependence on QCD parameters. We discuss the sources of uncertainties and comment on possible strangeness content of the nucleon and the Delta.

The masses and residues of doubly heavy spin-3/2 baryons
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (IOP Publishing, 2013-06-01)
The masses and residues of the spin-3/2 doubly heavy baryons are calculated within the QCD sum rules method. A comparison of our predictions with those existing in the literature is also made.
Masses and residues of the triply heavy spin-1/2 baryons
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2013-04-01)
We calculate the masses and residues of the triply heavy spin-1/2 baryons using the most general form of their interpolating currents within the QCD sum rules method. We compare the obtained results with the existing theoretical predictions in the literature.
Measurement of the t(t)over-bar production cross section in pp collisions at root s=8 TeV in dilepton final states containing one tau lepton
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2014-12-01)
The top-quark pair production cross section is measured in final states with one electron or muon and one hadronically decaying tau lepton from the process t (t) over bar -> (l nu(l))(tau nu(tau))b (b) over bar, where l = e, mu. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.6 fb(-1) collected with the CMS detector in proton-proton collisions at root s = 8 TeV. The measured cross section sigma(t (t) over bar) = 257 +/- 3 (stat) +/- 24 (syst) +/- 7 (lumi) pb, assuming a top-quark mass of 172.5...
Analysis of Radial Excitations of Octet Baryons in QCD Sum Rules
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Bilmiş, Selçuk (Hindawi Limited, 2017-01-01)
Using the QCD sum rules method, we estimate the mass and residues of the first radial excitations of octet baryons. The contributions coming from the ground state baryons are eliminated by constructing the linear combinations of the sum rules corresponding to different Lorentz structures. Our predictions of the masses of the first radial excitations of octet baryons are in good agreement with the data.
g(Sigma Q Sigma Q pi) coupling constant via light cone QCD sum rules
AZİZİ, KAZEM; BAYAR, MELAHAT; Özpineci, Altuğ; SARAÇ OYMAK, YASEMİN (American Physical Society (APS), 2010-10-11)
Using the most general form of the interpolating currents, the coupling constants g(Sigma b Sigma b pi) and g(Sigma c Sigma c pi) are calculated within the light cone QCD sum rules approach. It is found that g(Sigma c Sigma c pi) = -8.0 +/- 1.7 and g(Sigma b Sigma b pi) = -11.0 +/- 2.1.
