Lepton polarization effects in Lambda(b) -> Lambda l(+)l(-) decay in family non-universal Z ' model

2012-12-05
Possible manifestation of the family non-universal Z' boson effects in lepton polarization in rare, exclusive baryonic Lambda(b) -> Lambda l(+)l(-) decay is examined. It is observed that the double lepton polarizations P-NN. P-TT and P-TN are sensitive to the Z' contribution. Moreover, it is found that the values of the polarized forward-backward asymmetry A(FB)(LL) are different in Standard Model (SM) and family non-universal Z' model in different regions of q(2), and therefore can serve as an efficient tool for establishing new physics beyond the SM.

Lepton flavor violating Z -> l(1)(+)l(2)(-) decay in the two Higgs doublet model with the inclusion of non-universal extra dimensions
Iltan, EO (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2005-05-01)
We predict the branching ratios of the Z -> e(+/-) mu(+/-), Z -> e(+/-) tau(+/-) and Z -> mu(+/-)tau(+/-) decays in the model III version of the two Higgs doublet model, with the inclusion of one and two spatial non-universal extra dimensions. We observe that the branching ratios are not sensitive to a single extra dimension, however, this sensitivity is considerable for two extra dimensions.
The hydrogenphosphate complex of (1,5-cyclooctadiene)iridium(I), {[Bu4N][(1,5-COD)Ir center dot HPO4]}(n): Synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, and ES-MS of a new, preferred precursor to HPO42- and Bu4N+ stabilized Ir(0)(n) nanoclusters
Özkar, Saim (2004-02-09)
The synthesis and characterization of a previously unknown, rare organometallic-phosphate complex, {[Bu4N][(1,5-COD)Ir.HPO4]}(n) (1), is described. Characterization of 1 was accomplished by elemental analysis, electrospray mass spectrometry (ES-MS), and H-1 and C-13 NMR which established the symmetry of the product as at least C-2 or C-5. The ES-MS reveals an interesting, Ir(I) to Ir(III) oxidative process with intense peaks displaying the Ir-191/Ir-193 isotopic distribution patterns expected for the fragme...
Molecular dynamics investigation of Moire Patterns in double-layer graphene
Sökmen, Gökçe; Toffoli, Hande; Toffoli, Daniele; Department of Micro and Nanotechnology (2012)
Before Moire patterns are discovered in graphene, graphene was assumed to be found in only the rhombohedral form in nature. After transfer of graphene layer over another substrate was achieved by Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov, studies on graphene gained momentum. Following this, moire paterns were observed by scanning tunelling microscopy (STM) and high resolution transmision electron microscopy (HR-TEM). However, stability of these structures are still unknown. In this thesis, for the first time in l...
Lepton flavor violating Z -> l(1)(+)l(2)(-) decays with the localized new Higgs doublet in the extra dimension
Iltan, E. O. (2007-06-01)
We predict the branching ratios of Z -> e(+/-)mu(+/-), Z -> e(+/-)tau(+/-) and Z -> mu(+/-)tau(+/-) decays in the framework of the 2HDM with the inclusion of one and two extra dimensions, by considering that the new Higgs doublet is localized in the extra dimension with a Gaussian profile. We observe that their BRs are at the order of the magnitude of 10(-10), 10(-8) and 10(-5) with the inclusion of a single extra dimension, in the given range of the free parameters. These numerical values are slightly supp...
Lepton polarization asymmetry in B -> iota(+)iota(-) decay beyond the standard model
Bashiry, V (IOP Publishing, 2005-09-01)
The lepton polarization asymmetry in the B -> l(+)l(-) decay, when one of the leptons is polarized, is investigated by using the most general form of the effective Hamiltonian. We find allowed regions for the new scalar Wilson coefficients, assuming that the experimental branching ratio is measured within 10% percent uncertainty. Then using these restrictions to the new coefficients the sensitivity of the lepton polarization asymmetry to them is studied. Moreover, it is observed that there are regions of te...
