SPECIAL FEATURES OF VIBRATIONAL PROPERTIES OF MIXED-CRYSTALS WITH TLSE STRUCTURE
Hasanlı, Nızamı; GONCHAROV, AF; MELNIK, NN; VINOGRADOV, EA (1983-01-01)
Polarized IR reflection and Raman scattering spectra have been studied in solid solutions based on TlSe structural type chain single crystals. The results of processing the IR spectra of mixed crystals are analyzed from the standpoint of a random-element-isodisplacements (REI) model extended to the case of many oscillators. In the case of the formation of mixed cells in solid solutions, respective modes have been observed in IR reflection and Raman scattering spectra.
Experimental Investigation of Eccentric Reinforced Concrete Beam-Column-Slab Connections under Earthquake Loading
Burak Bakır, Burcu (2004-08-01)
The inelastic behavior of beam-to-column joints has been studied since 1960’s; however, there is still limited information on eccentric connections, in which the centerline of the spandrel beam does not coincide with the centroid of the column. In this experimental study, the seismic behavior of three 3/4- scale eccentric beam-column-slab subassemblies was investigated. The main design parameters were selected as the eccentricity, normal beam width, and column section aspect ratio. The eccentricity between ...

Experimental testing of hot mix asphalt mixture made of recycled aggregates
Rafi, Muhammad Masood; Qadir, Adnan; Siddiqui, Salman Hameed (2011-12-01)
The migration of population towards big cities generates rapid construction activities. These activities not only put pressure on natural resources but also produce construction, renovation and demolitionwaste. There is an urgent need to find out ways to handle this waste owing to growing environmental concerns. This can reduce pressure on natural resources as well. This paper presents the results of experimental studies which were carried out on hot mix asphalt mixture samples. These samples were manufactu...
