Comments on "Detection of signals of unknown duration by multiple energy detectors"
SİPAHİGİL, OKTAY; Çiloğlu, Tolga (Elsevier BV, 2014-01-01)
In the 2010 paper entitled "Detection of signals of unknown duration by multiple energy detectors", a procedure to detect signals of unknown duration under Gaussian noise has been proposed and probability of detection and probability of false alarm expressions have been derived. This note indicates an error made at the beginning of these derivations.
Comments on "Propagation Modeling Over Irregular Terrain by the Improved Two-Way Parabolic Equation Method"
Ozgun, Ozlem; Apaydin, Gokhan; Kuzuoğlu, Mustafa; Sevgi, Levent (2014-07-01)
The above paper [1] is about the two-way split-step parabolic equation method (2W-SSPE) over irregular terrain, and claims that they have developed the “improved” version of the 2W-SSPE approach that has been proposed and validated by us in literature [2]-[11]. The paper [1] claims to derive the 2W-PE directly from 2D Helmholtz equation. They do this by listing and explaining equations (1)-(9). The authors needed to state that this is quite different from the formulation given in Levy's book (reference [9] ...
Comments on "A different perspective on taper efficiency for array antennas"
Demir, S (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2005-03-01)
For original paper, see Holzman (IEEE Trans. Antennas Propag., vol. 51, no.10, p.2963-7, 2003). The present author suggests that the equation given for taper efficiency in the paper by Holzman is misleading and discusses this point.
