The utility of NBS-profiling for characterization of yellow rust resistance in an F6 durum wheat population
Tufan, Hale A.; Taşkin, Belgin Göçmen; Maccormack, Ruth; Boyd, Lesley A.; Kaya, Zeki; Türet, M. (Indian Academy of Sciences, 2019-11-01)
Seedling and adult plant (field) resistance to yellow rust in the durum wheat (Triticum turgidum ssp. durum) cross Kunduru-1149 x Cham-1 was characterized using a functionally-targeted DNA marker system, NBS-profiling. Chi-squared analysis indicated a four gene model conferring seedling yellow rust resistance against Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici isolate WYR85/22 (virulent on Yr2, Yr6, Yr7 and Yr9). Interval mapping located two QTL for yellow rust resistance on the long arm of chromosome 1B, while Kru...
The potential of the innovative SeMPAC process for enhancing the removal of recalcitrant organic micropollutants
Alvarino, T.; KOMESLİ, Okan Tarık; Suarez, S.; Lema, J. M.; Omil, F. (2016-05-05)
SeMPAC is an innovative process based on a membrane sequential batch reactor to which powdered activated carbon (PAC) is directly added. It was developed with the aim of obtaining a high quality effluent in terms of conventional pollutants and organic micropollutants (OMPs). High COD removal and nitrification efficiencies (>95%) were obtained already during the operation without PAC, although denitrification was enhanced by PAC addition. OMPs were followed in the solid and liquid matrixes so that biotransfo...
