On oscillation and nonoscillation of second-order dynamic equations
Zafer, Ağacık (Elsevier BV, 2009-01-01)
New oscillation and nonoscillation criteria are established for second-order linear equations with damping and forcing terms. Examples are given to illustrate the results.
On homology of real algebraic varieties
Ozan, Yıldıray (American Mathematical Society (AMS), 2001-01-01)
Let R be a commutative ring with unity and X an R-oriented compact nonsingular real algebraic variety of dimension n. If i : X --> X-C is any nonsingular complexification of X, then the kernel, which we will denote by KHk(X, R), of the induced homomorphism i(*) : H-k(X, R) --> H-k(X-C, R) is independent of the complexification. In this work, we study KHk(X, R) and give some of its applications.
On the general problem of stability for impulsive differential equations
Akhmet, Marat (Elsevier BV, 2003-12-01)
Criteria for stability, asymptotical stability and instability of the nontrivial solutions of the impulsive system
On the performance of curvature stabilization time stepping methods for double-diffusive natural convection flows in the presence of magnetic field
Cibik, Aytekin; Eroglu, Fatma G.; Kaya Merdan, Songül (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2021-01-01)
© 2021, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature. This paper considers analytically and numerically the curvature-based stabilization method for double-diffusive natural convection flows in the presence of magnetic field. Unconditionally stable and optimally accurate second-order approximations are obtained. The impact of curvature stabilization on different flow fields are presented for several numerical test problems.
On the reduction principle for differential equations with piecewise constant argument of generalized type
Akhmet, Marat (Elsevier BV, 2007-12-01)
In this paper we introduce a new type of differential equations with piecewise constant argument (EPCAG), more general than EPCA [K.L. Cooke, J. Wiener, Retarded differential equations with piecewise constant delays, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 99 (1984) 265-297; J. Wiener, Generalized Solutions of Functional Differential Equations, World Scientific, Singapore, 1993]. The Reduction Principle [V.A. Pliss, The reduction principle in the theory of the stability of motion, Izv. Akad. Nauk SSSR Ser. Mat. 27 (1964) 1297...
