Role of STRO-1 sorting of porcine dental germ stem cells in dental stem cell-mediated bone tissue engineering
Pekozer, Gorke Gurel; Ramazanoglu, Mustafa; Schlegel, Karl Andreas; Kök, Fatma Neşe; KÖSE, GAMZE (Informa UK Limited, 2018-01-01)
Stem cells of dental origin emerged as a new source for the regeneration of tissues with advantages mainly including non-invasive collection procedures and lack of ethical contraversies with their harvest or use. In this study, porcine TGSCs (pTGSCs) were isolated from mandibular third molar tooth germs of 6-month-old domestic pigs. This is the first study that reports the isolation and characterization of TGSCs from porcine third molars and their differentiation depending on STRO-1 expression. PTGSCs were ...

Role of biochar-based free radicals in immobilization and speciation of metals in the contaminated soil-plant environment
Rashid, Muhammad Saqib; Liu, Guijian; Yousaf, Balal; Hamid, Yasir; Rehman, Abdul; Arif, Muhammad; Ahmed, Rafay; Song, Yu; Ashraf, Aniqa (2023-01-01)
The structure of biochar produced at various pyrolysis temperatures influences metal geochemical behavior. Here, the impact of wheat straw-derived biochar (300, 500, and 700 degrees C) on the immobilization and trans-formation of metals in the contaminated soil-plant system was assessed. The findings of the sequential extraction revealed that biochar additives had a substantial influence on the speciation of Cr, Ni, Pb, and Zn in the contaminated soil. The lowest F1 (exchangeable and soluble fraction) + F2 ...
Role of ABCB1 and ABCC1 Gene Induction on Survival in Locally Advanced Breast Cancer
Atalay, C.; DEMİRKAZIK, AHMET; Gündüz, Ufuk (2008-12-01)
Drug resistance to chemotherapy in patients with locally advanced breast cancer results in a decrease in treatment efficacy and in patient survival. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of ABCB1 and ABCC1 gene induction during chemotherapy on disease-free and overall survival of breast cancer patients.
