Thermo-resistant green microalgae for effective biodiesel production: Isolation and characterization of unialgal species from geothermal flora of Central Anatolia
Onay, Melih; Sonmez, Cagla; Öktem, Hüseyin Avni; Yücel, Ayşe Meral (2014-10-01)
Oil content and composition, biomass productivity and adaptability to different growth conditions are important parameters in selecting a suitable microalgal strain for biodiesel production. Here, we describe isolation and characterization of three green microalgal species from geothermal flora of Central Anatolia. All three isolates, namely, Scenedesmus sp. METUNERGY1402 (Scenedesmus sp. ME02), Hindakia tetrachotoma METUNERGY1403 (H. tetrachotoma ME03) and Micractinium sp. METUNERGY1405 (Micractinium sp. M...
Thermoluminescence characteristics of Tl4GaIn3S8 layered single crystals
Delice, S.; IŞIK, MEHMET; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2014-01-12)
The properties of trapping centres in - as grown - Tl4GaIn3S8 layered single crystals were investigated in the temperature range of 10-300K using thermoluminescence (TL) measurements. TL curve was analysed to characterize the defects responsible for the observed peaks. Thermal activation energies of the trapping centres were determined using various methods: curve fitting, initial rise and peak shape methods. The results indicated that the peak observed in the low-temperature region composed of many overlap...

Thermoluminescence in gallium sesquisulfide single crystals: usual and unusual heating rate dependencies
Güler, Işıkhan; Gasanova, L.; Mahammadov, A.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2018-01-01)
Thermoluminescence (TL) experiments were conducted for Ga2S3 crystals to obtain information about trapping parameters. TL measurements were performed from 10 to 300 K with varying heating rates in the range of 0.2-0.8 K/s. Two TL glow peaks centered at 44K (peak A) and 91 K (peak B) were observed at heating rate of beta=0.5 K/s. For peak A, TL intensity decreased whereas that for peak B increased with elevating the heating rates that means anomalous heating rate occurred for peak B. TL glow curves were anal...
Analysis of Two Attacks on Reduced-Round Versions of the SMS4
Toz, Deniz; Dunkelman, Orr (2008-10-22)
SMS4 is a 128-bit block cipher used in WAPI (the Chinese national standard for wireless networks). Up until recently, the best attacks on SMS4 known, in terms of the number of rounds, were the rectangle attack on 14 rounds and the impossible differential attack on 16 rounds (out of 32 rounds) presented by Lu. While analyzing them, we noticed that these attacks have flaws and that their complexity analysis is inaccurate. In this paper we make a more comprehensive analysis of these attacks and further improve...
