HYSTERETIC RESPONSE OF REINFORCED-CONCRETE INFILLED FRAMES
ALTIN, S; ERSOY, U; TANKUT, T (1992-08-01)
Strengthening of framed reinforced concrete structures by cast-in-place reinforced concrete infills is commonly used in practice. The objective of this study is to investigate the behavior of such infilled frames under seismic loads. For this purpose, 14 two-story, one-bay infilled frames are tested under reversed cyclic loading simulating seismic action. The variables investigated are thc effect of type of infill reinforcement, thc connection between the frame and thc infill, and the flexural capacity of c...

Hysteretic Shear Model for Reinforced Concrete Members
Özcebe, Güney; Saatçioğlu, Murat (American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), 1989-1)
A hysteretic model is proposed for shear response of reinforced concrete members subjected to shear force and bending moment reversals. The model consists of a primary shear force‐shear displacement curve and unloading and reloading branches under cyclic loading. The primary curve is the envelope curve for the hysteretic relationship, and can be considered the same as the force displacement relationship under monotonic loading up to the onset of strength decay. A primary curve established by any acceptable ...
Hysteresis band control of hybrid active power filter: an application to a medium-frequency induction melting furnace
Durna, Emre; Ermiş, Muammer; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2018)
In order to prevent the harmful effects of Medium-Frequency Induction Melting Furnaces to the grid they are connected, it is very important to keep the unintended current harmonics generated by them within allowed limits. Since Medium-Frequency Induction Melting Furnace load contains variety of harmonics and interharmonics in a wide range, a flexible solution with no parallel resonance risk should be implemented. A Hybrid Active Power Filter is the most suitable solution for such a case. In this research wo...
Compressive sensing imaging through a drywall barrier at sub-THz and THz frequencies in transmission and reflection modes
Takan, Taylan; ÖZKAN, VEDAT ALİ; Idikut, Firat; Yildirim, Ihsan Ozan; ŞAHİN, ASAF BEHZAT; Altan, Hakan (2014-09-24)
In this work sub-terahertz imaging using Compressive Sensing (CS) techniques for targets placed behind a visibly opaque barrier is demonstrated both experimentally and theoretically. Using a multiplied Schottky diode based millimeter wave source working at 118 GHz, metal cutout targets were illuminated in both reflection and transmission configurations with and without barriers which were made out of drywall. In both modes the image is spatially discretized using laser machined, 10 x 10 pixel metal aperture...
