Preparation and characterization of silver sers nanotags
Kibar, Seda; Volkan, Mürvet; Department of Chemistry (2010)
Tags are materials used for labeling substances and so make possible the qualitative and quantitative analysis both in macroscopic and microscopic world. Nowadays, surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy became the favored one among the optical based-tag detection systems. Progress in surface enhanced Raman detection and imaging technologies depends on the availability of Raman labels with strong light scattering characteristics. In this study various SERS nanotags were prepared. An ideal SERS nanotag consists ...
Preparation and Characterization of Amino-Functionalized Zeolite/SiO2 Materials for Trypsin-Chymotrypsin Co-immobilization
Dogan, Demet; Sezer, Selda; Ulu, Ahmet; KÖYTEPE, SÜLEYMAN; ATEŞ, BURHAN (2021-08-01)
Inorganic supports have attracted increased attention in enzyme immobilization since they not only improve enzyme stability but also reduce the final cost of enzymatic reactions. Herein, we explored the suitability of the amino-functionalized zeolite/SiO2 materials to co-immobilize trypsin-chymotrypsin mixture. For this purpose, the trypsin-chymotrypsin mixture was co-immobilized on the amino-functionalized zeolite/SiO2 materials and the immobilization yield was 80.7 +/- 7.6%. The pre-support and its modifi...
PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF POLYMER COATED SMALL UNILAMELLAR VESICLES
OZDEN, MY; Hasırcı, Vasıf Nejat (1991-09-02)
Glucose oxidase was entrapped in small unilamellar vesicles composed of phosphatidylcholine, dicetyl phosphate and cholesterol. Prediction of the enzyme content of liposomes by calculations based on input concentrations of lipid and protein, dimensions of the lipids and the liposomes yielded one protein per vesicle. The entrapment efficiency was experimentally determined to be about 13%. On the other hand the entrapment efficiency for the small chromate ions was found to be significantly lower (0.1%). T...
Preparation and characterization of supported PES membranes
TOPUZ, BERNA; Yılmaz, Levent; Kalıpçılar, Halil (Journal of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of Gazi University, 2019-01-01)
In the present study. polyethersulfone (PES) membranes on a macroporous alumina support was prepared by solvent-deposition method to separate H-2/CH4 mixture. The membrane solution viscosities were determined in order to understand the effect of PES concentration on the formation of selective membranes over a support. Supported PES membranes were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and single gas permeability measurements of H-2 and CH4. The membrane casting solution...
