A novel type of phthalocyanine polymer, 1,4-diazophenylene-bridged Cu-phthalocyanine, was prepared from the diazonium salt of diaminobenzene and Cu(II)1,8,15,22-tetraaminophthalocyanine. The polymer is partially soluble in tetrahydrofuran, dichloromethane, and dimethylformamide. Characterization of the polymer was performed by IR and UV-visible spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, ash analysis, viscometry, differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis. The molecular weight of the soluble part of the polymer was determined by ebullioscopy. Electrical conductivity of the polymer and its doped samples were determined by the 4-probe technique. It was found that the electrical conductivity increased up to 10(-4) S/cm after doping. The redox behaviour of the polymer was investigated utilizing cyclic voltammetry.

Synthesis, characterization and electrical properties of diazophenylene and diazodiphenylene bridged co, ni, cu, ce, and er phthalocyanine polymers
Alkan, Cemil; Alkan, Cemil; Department of Polymer Science and Technology (2004)
In this research, diazophenylene and diazodiphenylene bridged metal-phthalocyanine polymers were produced from diazonium salt of diaminophenylene/bensidin and pre-synthesized tetraamino metal phthalocyanines. Tetraamino metal phthalocyanine complexes of Co, Ni, Cu, Ce, and Er were obtained by reducing tetranitro metal phthalocyanine complexes synthesized from 3-nitrophthalic anhydride, urea, metal salt, and ammonium molybdate catalyst. Complexes and polymers were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared ...
Synthesis, crystal structure and characterization of new transition metal compounds of bromophenols: Bis(2,4,6-tribromophenolato) di(N-methylimidazole)M(II) (M=Co, Cu)
Camurlu, P; Yılmaz, Ayşen; Tatar, L; Kisakurek, D; Ulku, D (Wiley, 2005-03-01)
Bis(2,4,6-tribromophenolato)di(N-methyl imidazole)M(II), where M stands for cobalt and copper metals, was synthesized via reaction of the corresponding metal sulphate and 2,4,6-tribromophenolate in aqueous media in the presence of N-methyl imidazole and sodium hydroxide. Although various crystallization procedures were applied only cobalt complex was obtained as single crystals. The Co(II) ion has a distorted octahedral enviroment involving two O atoms and two N atoms of the Bis(2,4,6-tribromopbenolato)di(N...
Preparation and Characterization of Mixed Halide MAPbI(3-x)Cl(x) Perovskite Thin Films by Three-Source Vacuum Deposition
Babaei, Azin; Soltanpoor, Wiria; Tesa-Serrate, Maria A.; Yerci, Selçuk; Sessolo, Michele; Bolink, Henk J. (2020-04-01)
Chloride is extensively used in the preparation of metal halide perovskites such as methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI(3-x)Cl(x)), but its persistence and role in solution-processed materials has not yet been rationalized. Multiple-source vacuum deposition of perovskites enables a fine control over thin-film stoichiometry and allows the incorporation of chemical species irrespective of their solubility. Herein, the first example of mixed MAPbI(3-x)Cl(x) thin films prepared by three-source vacuum deposition i...
Synthesis and characterization of conjugated polymers with polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane pendant groups
Ertan, Salih; Kaynak, Cevdet; Cihaner, Atilla; Department of Polymer Science and Technology (2017)
In this thesis, a series of monomers covalently bonded to polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) pendant group was designed and synthesized. POSS group is a hybrid organic-inorganic nanostructure with 1 to 3 nm diameter. POSS which has a cage structure is mainly composed of silicon (Si) (at vertices) and oxygen (O) (in the middle of the edge). POSS nanostructure can be modified through the vertices with organic functional groups. POSS groups provide different properties, such as thermal robustness, mec...
Synthesis and characterization of conducting and non-conducting polymers of sodium 2,4,6-trichlorophenolate by microwave initiation
Cakmak, O; Basturkmen, M; Kisakurek, D (Elsevier BV, 2004-07-22)
A novel synthesis of poly(dichlorophenylene oxide) and a conducting polymer were achieved simultaneously from 2,4,6-trichlorophenol in a very short time, using microwave energy. The characterizations of poly(dichlorophenylene oxide) and the conducting polymer were performed by DSC, TGA, elemental analysis, FTIR, H-1 and C-13 NMR, SEM, MS and X-ray diffraction spectrometer analyses. The combined molecular weight of the polymer, 1.8 x 10(4), was determined by using viscometry measurement. Poly(dichlorophenyle...
