The Effects of folk medicinal plants Viscum Album L. and Epilobium Hirsutum L. on protein and mRNA expressions of rat liver bile acid synthesizing CYPs
Çulcu, Tuba; Adalı, Orhan; Şen, Alaattin; Department of Biochemistry (2015)
Plants include many phenolic and polyphenolic compounds that are important in medicine, cosmetics and nutrition. Viscum album L. is a bi-perennial shrub and an evergreen semi-parasitic plant widely distributed in Europe. Epilobium hirsutum L., great willow-herb, grows in Eurasia, North Africa, Europe, Southern Australia and United States. Due to having a huge phenolic profiles, Viscum album L. and Epilobium hirsutum L. have many different biological functions including anti-tumor, anti-oxidant and anti-canc...
The Effects of Chloramphenicol on Some Biochemical Parameters in Mice
Ege, Hismiogullari Sahver; Tunay, Kontas; Adil, Hismiogullari Adnan; Dinc, Essiz; Gokhan, Eraslan (2008-12-01)
The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of some dose regimens of chloramphenicol on some biochemical parameters in mice for acute and subacute periods. Chloramphenicol was given to the experimental groups at the doses of 100 mg kg(-1) bw (group 2) and 200 mg kg(-1) bw (group 3) in drinking water for 7 days. Blood samples were taken from all animals on day 0, 1, 7 and 14 of the study. The hepatotoxic effect of cloramphenicol occurred in groups 2 and 3 with increasing doses of cloramphenicol. Hepa...
