Early Detection of Agglomeration in Conical Spouted Beds Using Recurrence Plots
Savari, Chiya; Külah, Görkem; Sotudeh-Gharebagh, Rahmat; Mostoufi, Navid; KÖKSAL, MURAT (2016-07-06)
The agglomeration of particles in a conical spouted bed was investigated using a recurrence plot (RP) and recurrence quantification analysis (RQA) of the pressure fluctuations (PFs) and acoustic emission (AE) signals. Experiments were carried out in a 45 degrees conical spouted bed with sugar particles (d(P) = 720 mu m; rho(p) = 1580 kg/m(3)). Water was sprayed incrementally into the bed to produce agglomerates during the operation. Several recurrence quantification parameters were calculated during the agg...
Early Understanding of Normativity and Freedom to Act in Turkish Toddlers
Tuncgenc, Bahar; Hohenberger, Annette Edeltraud; Rakoczy, Hannes (Informa UK Limited, 2015-01-01)
Two studies investigated young 2- and 3-year-old Turkish children's developing understanding of normativity and freedom to act in games. As expected, children, especially 3-year-olds, protested more when there was a norm violation than when there was none. Surprisingly, however, no decrease in normative protest was observed even when the actor violated the norms due to a physical constraint, and not due to unwillingness. The increase in helping responses in this case lends support to the idea that at these ...
Early Identification of Trauma-induced Coagulopathy: Development and Validation of a Multivariable Risk Prediction Model.
Perkins, ZB; Yet, Barbaros; Marsden, M; Glasgow, S; Marsh, W; Davenport, R; Brohi, K; Tai, NRM (Ovid Technologies (Wolters Kluwer Health), 2020-01-14)
The aim of this study was to develop and validate a risk prediction tool for trauma-induced coagulopathy (TIC), to support early therapeutic decision-making.
Preliminary comparison of continuous versus noncontinuous programming and attitude toward and recall of advertisements
Akyamac, Orkide; Öner Özkan, Bengi (2006-04-01)
Need for continuity of a television program was assessed with attitude toward and recall of advertisements. The program continuity was manipulated experimentally by presenting one music video program as Top 10 (continuous) or as Regular (discontinuous) format. General attitude toward commercials and the belief in advertisement-product realism were investigated through the commercials with continuous and discontinuous formats of the same program. Data were gathered from undergraduates (23 men and 68 women) w...
Development of work stress scale for correctional officers
Senol-Durak, Emre; Durak, Mithat; Gençöz, Tülin (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2006-03-01)
Introduction: This study aimed at examining the psychometric properties of Work Stress Scale for Correctional Officers (WSSCO). Methods: One hundred nineteen correctional officers (109 males and 10 females) employed in Turkey participated in this study. In addition to WSSCO, Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS), and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) were administered to the participants. Results: The internal consistencies and ...
