Radiative damping of whistlers in a dense magnetoactive plasma waveguide
Yilmaz, A; Oke, G; Rukhadze, A; Bilikmen, S (IOP Publishing, 1996-06-01)
The absorption of whistler waves in a magnetized cylindrical plasma due to coupling with oblique Langmuir waves is investigated. Two types of mechanisms exist for whistler absorption. The first one is related to the excitation of Langmuir waves in the volume of the dense plasma and their subsequent absorption due to the electron collisions. The second one is the emission of Langmuir waves outside of the cylindrical plasma when it is surrounded by the rare plasma. The relation between these whistler absorpti...
Radiative decay of the X(3872) as a mixed molecule-charmonium state in effective field theory
Cincioglu, E.; Özpineci, Altuğ (Elsevier BV, 2019-10-10)
Assuming that X(3872) is a mixture between 2P charmonium and (D) over barD* molecular states with J(PC) = 1(++), an analysis of X(3872) radiative decays into J/psi gamma and psi(2S)gamma is presented. The modification of the radiative branching ratio due to possible constructive or destructive interferences between the meson-loop and the short-distance contact term, which is modeled by a charm quark loop, is shown. The model predictions are shown to be compatible with the experimentally determined ratio of ...
Radiative dileptonic decays of B-meson in the general two Higgs Doublet Model
Erkol, G; Turan, Gürsevil (2002-05-01)
We investigate the exclusive B --> gammal(+)l(-) decay in the general two Higgs Doublet Model (model III) including the neutral Higgs boson effects with an emphasis on possible CP-violating effects. For this decay, we analyze the dependencies of the forward-backward asymmetry of the lepton pair, A(FB), CP-violating asymmetry, A(CP), and the CP-violating asymmetry in forward-backward asymmetry, A(CP)(A(FB)), on the model parameters and also on the neutral Higgs boson effects. We have found that A(FB) similar...
Radiative heat transfer modeling of cavities with inhomogeneous participating media using Monte Carlo ray tracing method
Dincer, Selim; Tarı, İlker; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2022-1-31)
A Monte Carlo ray-tracing method is developed to solve radiative heat transfer in inhomogeneous participating media with three-dimensional complex enclosures. The study covers the application of the Monte Carlo method to view factor calculations, surface-to-surface heat exchange problems, and gray and non-gray participating media analysis. Firstly, the present method is validated against the analytical solutions to calculate the view factor of a simple cylindrical e...
Radiative transfer in participating media with collimated short-pulse Gaussian irradiation
Okutucu Özyurt, Hanife Tuba (IOP Publishing, 2006-05-07)
Radiative transfer in a one-dimensional absorbing and isotropically scattering plane-parallel grey medium with a collimated short-pulse Gaussian irradiation on one of its boundaries is studied. The medium is non-emitting and the boundaries are non-reflecting and non-refracting. The Galerkin method is extended for the solution of the transient radiative transfer problem. The transient transmittance and reflectance of the medium are evaluated for various optical thicknesses, scattering albedos and pulse durat...
