Bond Strength of Spliced Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Reinforcement
Pay, Ali Cihan; Canbay, Erdem; Frosch, Robert J. (2014-03-01)
To provide increased insight regarding the bond behavior of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) bars, 41 glass FRP, carbon FRP, and steel reinforced concrete beams with unconfined tension lap splices were tested. The test results are analyzed to evaluate the influence of splice length, surface deformation, modulus of elasticity, axial rigidity, and bar casting position on bond strength. Furthermore, the test results are compared with the current design expression recommended by ACI Committee 440 to evaluate its ...
Bond strength and failure analysis of lining materials to denture resin
Aydin, AK; Terzioglu, H; Akinay, AE; Ulubayram, K; Hasırcı, Nesrin (1999-05-01)
Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the bonding properties of five lining materials to a denture base resin. Two hard (chemical-cured resin: Kooliner "Coe Labs, USA" and light-cured VLC resin: Triad "Dentsply, USA") and three soft (chemical-cured resin: Express "Alcos,-USA", heat-temperature vulcanized 'HTV' silicone material: Molloplast-B "Regneri GmbH, Germany" and room-temperature vulcanized 'RTV' silicone material:Ufi Gel-P "Voco,Germany") liners were used.
Bond strength of a silicone soft lining material to poly(methyl methacrylate) resin treated with maleic anhydride and its terpolymers
Turgut, Mehmet; Bolayir, Giray; Dogan, Orhan Murat; Keskin, Selda; Dogan, Arife; Boztug, Ali (Informa UK Limited, 2007-01-01)
This study investigated the effectiveness of surface treatment of Poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) denture base resin on tensile bond strength between PMMA/silicone-based soft liner. A total of 25 specimens were fabricated and assigned into five groups (n = 5). The surfaces of PMMA were treated with maleic anhydride, maleic anhydride-styrene-vinyl-acetate, n-butylmaleate-styrene-vinyl-acetate, or n-pentamaleate-styrene-vinyl-acetate prior to Primo adhesive primer application and silicone liner placement. T...
Bond Characteristics of Overlays Placed over Bridge Decks Sealed with High Molecular Weight Methacrylate
Shahrooz, Bahram; Gillum, Arnol; Cole, Jeremiah; Türer, Ahmet (SAGE Publications, 2000-01-01)
The bond strength between portland cement overlays and bridge decks treated with high-molecular-weight methacrylate sealers is examined. The data universally suggest that sealers reduce the available bond strength. However, extra surface preparation techniques, such as light sandblasting of the sealed surface or broadcasting sand over the surface immediately after scaling [at approximately 1 kg/m(2) (20 lb/100 ft(2))], restore the strengths to 80 or 85 percent, respectively, of the unsealed surface. Service...
Crystal Data for A3B5C9-Type Ternary Compounds
Özkan, Hüsnü; Hasanlı, Nızamı; Yilmaz, Ibrahim; Çulfaz, Ali; Nagiev, Vyaçeslav (1998-12-01)
X-ray powder diffraction data were obtained for Cu3Ga5Se9, Cu3In5Se9, Cu3In5Te9, Ag3In5S9, Ag3Ga5S9, Ag3In5Se9, and Ag3Ga5Te9 ternary compounds. The data indicate that these compounds crystallize in orthorhombic, monoclinic, orthorhombic, monoclinic, tetragonal, tetragonal, and orthorhombic systems, respectively.
