Nuclear dissipative dynamics in langevin approach
Tanrıverdi, Vedat; Gökalp, Ahmet; Department of Physics (2004)
In this thesis Langevin approach is applied to analyze the nuclear dissipative dynamics in fission and fusion reactions. In these investigations, the nuclear elongation coordinate and the corresponding momentum are chosen as collective variables. By considering changes in these variables the decay rate of fission and the formation probability of fusion for heavy ion reactions are calculated. These calculations are performed using simulation techniques and the results thus obtained are compared with the corr...
The standart model analysis of the cp violation in the inclusive semileptonic b-meson decays
Eygi, Zeynep Deniz; Turan, Gürsevil; Department of Physics (2004)
Being a flavor changing neutral current process, inclusive semileptonic B- meson decays provide reliable testing grounds for the Standard Model at the loop level. They are also importanat in the CKM phenomology and investing the CP violation due to the existence of sizable interference terms in the decay amplitude. In this work , the rare inclusive semileptonic B- meson decays for (lepton is electron ,muon , tau) are investigated in the context of the Standard Model. The differential branching ratio, forward...
The strong g(B**B pi) coupling constant in full QCD
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (IOP Publishing, 1996-12-01)
To leading order in alpha(s), the leading and non-leading 1/m(b) corrections to the strong coupling constant g(B**B pi) of the excited B** meson are calculated in the framework of QCD spectral moment sum rules in the full theory. Our prediction is in good agreement with the light-cone QCD sum rule result.
The non-split scalar coset in supergravity theories
Yilmaz, NT (Elsevier BV, 2003-12-22)
The general non-split scalar coset of supergravity theories is discussed. The symmetric space sigma model is studied in two equivalent formulations and for different coset parametrizations. The dualisation and the local first order formulation is performed for the non-split scalar coset G/K when the rigid symmetry group G is a real form of a non-compact semisimple Lie group (not necessarily split) and the local symmetry group K is G's maximal compact subgroup. A comparison with the scalar cosets arising in ...
Lepton flavor violation in the two higgs doublet model
Sundu, Hayriye; İltan, Erhan Onur; Department of Physics (2007)
The lepton flavor violating interactions are interesting in the sense that they are sensitive the physics beyond the standard model and they ensure considerable information about the restrictions of the free parameters, with the help of the possible accurate measurements. In this work, we investigate the lepton flavor violating H+ ! W+l and the lepton flavor conserving H+ ! W+l decays in the general two Higgs doublet model and we estimate decay widths of these decays. After that, we analyze lepton flavor vi...
